Pokémon GO celebrates the Festival of Lights from November 5

In celebration of Diwali, a five-day long festival originating in the Indian subcontinent, Niantic have announced that a Festival of Lights event will be in Pokémon GO from November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to November 14, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Dedenne, the Electric- and Fairy-type Antenna Pokémon originally found in the Kalos region, will be making its Pokémon GO debut during this event.

During the event, players can expect the following:
  • Trainers will be able to enjoy fireworks during the first few days of the event
  • A free Festival of Lights T-shirt, inspired by the celebrations in India, will be available from the shop
  • Dedenne-inspired avatar items will be available from the shop.
  • Trainers will be able to get Dedenne-inspired stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
The following bonuses will be active during the event:
  • Friendship levels will increase twice as fast
  • Gifts will provide increased rewards
  • Trainers will be able to open up to 45 Gifts per day
Trainers in India can enjoy the following additional bonuses on November 7, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
  • Blitzle and Dedenne will be appearing more frequently in the wild
  • 2× Catch Candy

It seems the Festival of Lights event and Professor Willow's research into Hoopa might have caught Team GO Rocket's attention. Reports indicate that Team GO Rocket plans to strike on November 9, 2021. More information will be announced soon.
  • You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
  • Team GO Rocket members will be appearing significantly more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
