In celebration of Diwali, a five-day long festival originating in the Indian subcontinent, Niantic have announced that a Festival of Lights event will be in Pokémon GO from November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to November 14, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Dedenne, the Electric- and Fairy-type Antenna Pokémon originally found in the Kalos region, will be making its Pokémon GO debut during this event.
During the event, players can expect the following:
- Trainers will be able to enjoy fireworks during the first few days of the event
- A free Festival of Lights T-shirt, inspired by the celebrations in India, will be available from the shop
- Dedenne-inspired avatar items will be available from the shop.
- Trainers will be able to get Dedenne-inspired stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
- Friendship levels will increase twice as fast
- Gifts will provide increased rewards
- Trainers will be able to open up to 45 Gifts per day
- Blitzle and Dedenne will be appearing more frequently in the wild
- 2× Catch Candy
