Pokémon GO Fest returns for 2024 with three in-person events, in Sendai (May 30th-June 2nd), Madrid (June 14th-16th), and New York City (July 5th-7th)

Pokémon GO Fest 2024 Promotional Banner
Niantic has announced that the annual Pokémon GO Fest will be returning once more this year with 3 separate on-site events, as well as a global event. The three on-site events will be held in Sendai, Japan from May 30th to June 2nd; Madrid, Spain from June 14th to 16th; and New York City in the United States from July 5th to 7th. The global event meanwhile will be held on July 13th and 14th. This year's edition of the Pokémon GO Fest will see the debut of the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The Mythical Pokémon Marshadow is the focus for this year's event. Trainers will receive an event-exclusive Special Research which, when completed, will reward Trainers with an encounter with the Gloomdweller Pokémon. Please note that Trainers will only be able to encounter Mashadow in 1 of this Special Research, regardless of how many on-site Pokémon GO Fest 2024 events they may attend. Any subsequent GO Fest Special Research completed will award a Marshadow Candy instead.
The following event bonuses will be active from 9:30am to 6:30pm in Sendai, 9:00am to 7:00pm in Madrid, and 9:00am to 7:00pm in New York City during their respective event periods:
  • Trainers can earn 2× Catch Candy for Catching Pokémon
  • Trainers can earn 1.5× Hatch Candy from Hatching Pokémon
  • Trainers can receive up to 9 additional free Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for two hours
  • Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will hatch in 1/2 the regular Hatch Distance
  • Special 7 km Eggs will be available
  • Trainers will be able to make trades at a reduced Stardust cost
  • Trainers will be able to make up to 6 Special Trades on their ticketed day for each event. These trades can be made regardless of where Trainers are in the event city.
  • Heat Rotom may appear in GO Snapshots as a surprise encounter during in-person GO Fest events.
Trainers will also be able to visit a Team Lounge during the event for rest, relaxation, and the opportunity to participate in some additional in-person activities, including trivia contests.

Collection Challenges and Field Research
Event-themed Collection Challenges, as well as event-themed Field Research, will be available as part of this event.

Completing the Collection Challenges for one of each of the four habitats in the event will allow Trainers to level up their Elite Collector Medal, while event-themed Field Research tasks can be collected by spinning PokéStops..

GO Fest 2024: Sendai will take place from May 30th to June 2nd. The event will be split into two different experiences between two locations: Nanakita Park, and throughout the rest of Sendai. The city experience will take place from 9:30am to 6:30pm, featuring yet-to-be-announced special event exclusive gameplay.

The following additional in-person activities will be available at the Sendai event:
  • Habitat-themed sets will be present in Nanakita Park for special real-life photo opportunities
  • Trainers will be able to socialize with each other at a special Community Hub, or take a break and meet with Trainers from around the world at Team Lounges

Ticket Information
Two types of tickets are available for purchase for the in-person experiences: the Morning Park Experience and the Afternoon Park Experience tickets. Each ticket will allow access to both the park and citywide experiences, with the only difference being in the time of day Trainers will be at each location. Trainers will only be able to purchase a ticket for one day of each on-site event. Trainers are also able to purchase tickets for the two-day digital global event
  • Morning Park Experience ticket
    • Sendai: Park experience are from 9:30am-1:30pm (JST), with the city experience taking place from 9:30am-6:30pm (JST).
    • Madrid: Park experience are from 9:00am-1:30pm (CEST), with the city experience taking place from 9:00am-7:00pm (CEST).
    • New York City: Park experience are from 9:00am-1:00pm (EDT), with the city experience taking place from 9:00am-7:00pm (EDT).
  • Afternoon Park Experience ticket
    • Osaka: City experience are from 9:30am-6:30p.m. (JST), with the park experience taking place from 2:30pm-6:30pm (JST).
    • Madrid: City experience are from 9:00am-7:00pm (CEST), with the park experience taking place from 2:30pm-7:00pm (CET).
    • New York City: City experience are from 9:00am-7:00pm (EDT), with the park experience taking place from 3:00pm-7:00pm (EDT).
Tickets with early bird discounted pricing are available for purchase now for a limited time, at the following prices:
  • Sendai: ¥3100 SOLD OUT (General Admission tickets available from April at ¥3600)
  • Madrid: €27 (Normal price €32)
  • New York: $USD 25 (Normal price $USD 30)
Trainers can purchase their tickets for the in-person events via the official site, or in-app following the following steps
  • Open the Pokémon GO app.
  • In Map View, tap the Main Menu button.
  • Tap Events.
  • On the following page, all upcoming live events will be listed, with the soonest event at the top.
  • Trainers will see the label "Tickets Available!" next to a first-come first-served event if it hasn’t sold out yet. Tap the event to select the date and time, and input the payment information to complete the purchase. On the payment confirmation page, please note of the order ID. A confirmation email will be sent to the address entered before payment.
Tickets for the in-person events can also be gifted to a friend, following the below process:
  1. The friends' username will be required. While purchasing, there are boxes that can be filled in with the usernames of the friends—one name per box.
  2. Tap "Add." Make sure that the spelling of all usernames is correct.
  3. The ticket will be sent. (Note: Trainers need to be at least Great Friends with the friend. All friends will receive tickets for the same date and time.
Ticket add-ons
Trainers may also purchase additional add-ons for their ticket for the in-person events, which will be active throughout the following times:
  • Sendai: Thursday, May 30th through Sunday, June 2nd
  • Madrid: Friday, June 14th through Sunday, June 16th
  • New York City: Friday, July 5th through Sunday, July 7th
Trainers need not purchase the add-ons with the initial order of the access ticket, and can instead purchase the add-on at a later time. The add-ons available, and their prices for the three in-person events, are as follows:
  • Raid Lover (¥1,900 / €17 / $15)
    • Up to 18 free Raid Passes per day by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
    • 5,000 additional XP awarded for completed raids
    • 6 additional Candy for catching Pokémon in 5-star and Mega Raids
    • 3 additional Candy XL for catching Pokémon in 5-star and Mega Raids (Trainers level 31+)
  • Egg-thusiast (¥1,900 / €17 / $15)
    • 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance
    • Increased chance of receiving 10 km Eggs from spinning PokéStops and Gyms
    • 3× Hatch Stardust
    • 3× Hatch XP
    • 3× Hatch Candy
  • Citywide Gameplay (¥2,600 / €23 / $20)
    • Get additional time for the citywide gameplay experience. (Does not include additional Special or Timed Research.)
      • Sendai City: On up to three extra days
      • Madrid/New York City: On one to two extra days
  • T-shirt Pre-order (¥3,700 / €27 / $27)
    • Pre-order the event-exclusive Pokémon GO Fest 2024 T-shirt, and receive it in-person during the event. Each T-shirt purchased will also come with a code that can be redeemed foramtching in-app avatar item. (T-shirt quantities are limited and while supplies last.)
