Pokémon GO to introduce new type of Raid Battles - Elite Raids to debut with Hoopa Unbound from October 16th

Niantic has announced a new type of Raid Battle for Pokémon GO: Elite Raids. Elite Raids appear from special Raid Eggs that take 24 hours to hatch. Once the Raid Egg has hatched, a Raid Boss appears for 30 minutes. Elite Raid Bosses has to be battled in-person and cannot be attempted using Remote Raid Passes.

The first Pokémon that will be appearing in Elite Raids is the Djinn Pokémon Hoopa Unbound. The first of these raids will begin at 11:00am, 2:00pm, or 5:00pm local time on October 16th, depending on when their Raid Eggs appear. Additional Elite Raids will also be making an appearance during the current Season of Light.
