Pokémon GO to launch new City Safari events in October and November, with events scheduled to run in Seoul, Barcelona, and Mexico City

Niantic has announced a new type of event in Pokémon GO, the City Safari. These ticketed in-person events, similar to Safari Zones and Pokémon GO Fest, will feature location-themed wild Pokémon encounters, event-exclusive Special Research, and more. The Mount Pokémon Skiddo will make their Pokémon GO debut exclusively in these City Safari 2023 events, before becoming available to all Trainers worldwide at a later date.

The first three cities that will be hosting City Safari events are as follows:

• Seoul, South Korea - October 7th and 8th (10:00am - 6:00pm KST)
• Barcelona, Spain - October 13th and 14th (10:00am - 6:00pm CEST)
• Mexico City, Mexico - November 4th (10am - 6pm CST) and 5th (9am - 2pm, and 5pm - 8pm CST)

Event bonuses and activities
The following event bonuses will be active on the event date the player purchased during the event hours:

• Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lures) activated during the event will last for four hours.
• Up to five Special Trades can be made
• Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
• Buddy Pokémon may find an exclusive Tiny Compass souvenir.

Special Research
An event-exclusive Special Research will be available, where Trainers will assist Professor Willow and Eevee in learning more about the Pokémon appearing during the event. Trainers will encounter Eevee wearing an explorer hat at the beginning of the Special Research. This Eevee may appear as Shiny for lucky Trainers.

Field Research
Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will be available, where Trainers will learn more about the exciting Pokémon appearing across the city.

Ticket prices and bonuses
Trainers can purchase tickets through Pokémon GO City Safari website, or through the Pokémon GO app, for the following prices:

• Seoul, South Korea - ₩11,000
• Barcelona, Spain - €12
• Mexico City, Mexico - MX$150

On the website, a "Tickets Available" will appear next to each city's event ticket if it isn't sold out yet. Event gameplay will be available only at the date, time, and location of the tickets purchased. Trainers can either purchase a ticket for one day of the two-day event or a one-day ticket with an additional second day add-on. Tickets are first come, first served and are available for purchase while supplies last.

Ticket add-ons
Trainers can purchase additional ticket add-ons to enhance their event experience. If purchased, ticket add-ons will be active for both days of the event.

Raid Lover add-on
This addon is available for purchase for ₩5,500, €5, or MX$60 for the events at Seoul, Barcelona, and Mexico City respectively, and offers the following additional bonuses:

• Up to 12 free Raid Passes per day by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
• Additional 5,000 XP from completed raids
• 3 additional Candy awarded for catching Pokémon in five-star raids and Primal Raids
• 1 additional Candy XL awarded for catching Pokémon in five-star raids and Primal Raids for Trainers level 31 and above

Egg-thusiast
This addon is available for purchase for ₩5,500, €5, or MX$60 for the events at Seoul, Barcelona, and Mexico City respectively, and offers the following additional bonuses:

• 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance
• 2× Hatch Stardust
• 2× Hatch XP
• 2× Hatch Candy

Citywide Gameplay
Trainers can purchase this add-on to have access to the City Safari event on both days. This addon is available for purchase for ₩8,200, €8, or MX$100 for the events at Seoul, Barcelona, and Mexico City respectively, and offers the following additional bonuses for the specific day purchased:

• An increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
• Up to five Special Trades daily within the city
• 1/2 Stardust Cost for trades within the city
• Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for 8 hours
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours

While this add-on allows for gameplay on both days, Trainers will only receive the event Special Research once for the entire event.
