A Special Research story, What Lies beneath the Mask?, will be available, focusing on Ghost-type Pokémon, most notably Yamask. There will also be Timed Research, with tasks focused on participating in the Halloween Cup in the GO Battle League.

Starting from this event onward, Galarian Slowpoke will now be able to evolve into Galarian Slowking. To evolve it, set a Galarian Slowpoke as your buddy, and catch 30 Psychic-type Pokémon.

Part 1: Creepy Companions:
Runs from October 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time
The first part is themed around creepy companions, focusing on Psychic- and Poison-, type Pokémon that can't wait to be encountered and befriended, as well as other friendly, creepy Pokémon.

Halloween Mischief Pikachu, Zubat, Drowzee, Gastly, Spinarak, Misdreavus, Shuppet, Halloween Mischief Piplup, Stunky, Woobat, and Gothita will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Yamask may occasionally appear in the wild. Shiny Spinarak will be making their Pokémon GO debut.

Galarian Slowpoke, Murkrow, Scraggy, Yamask, and Espurr will be appearing in one-star raids; Alolan Raichu, Sableye, Banette, and Halloween Mischief Drifblim in three-star raids; and Altered Forme Giratina in five-star raids. Mega Gengar will be appearing in Mega Raids.

Spinarak, Misdreavus, Shuppet, Chingling, and Litwick will be hatching from common 7 km Eggs, and Galarian Yamask and Golett will be hatching from rare 7 km Eggs.

When you complete Field Research tasks, Halloween Mischief Pikachu, Zubat, Drowzee, Spinarak, Halloween Mischief Piplup, Woobat, and Gothita can often be encountered, with Halloween Mischief Drifblim and Galarian Yamask being occasionally encountered.

The next part of the Season of Mischief Special Research story, Misunderstood Mischief, will unlock. Strange Pokémon are appearing in Pokémon GO, including Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region like Galarian Slowking. Could this be a result of Hoopa's rings? Let's tackle this mystery together and learn more about Hoopa!

Part 2: Ghoulish Pals:

Runs from October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to October 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time
In the second part, Ghost types will be appearing more often everywhere as we get closer and closer to Halloween. Phantump, Trevenant, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist will make their debuts in Pokémon GO. With the introduction of Pumpkaboo comes a new mechanic to Pokémon GO: Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist that are larger will actually look larger in the game. There are four varying sizes; Small Size, Average Size, Large Size, and Super Size. In celebration of Pumpkaboo's debut and the mechanic it introduces, a Collection Challenge will be available that requires you to collect Pumpkaboo of various sizes.

Halloween Mischief Pikachu, Gastly, Murkrow, Misdreavus, Shuppet, Halloween Mischief Piplup, Purrloin, Phantump, Small Size Pumpkaboo, and Average Size Pumpkaboo will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Haunter, Yamask, Litwick, Large Size Pumpkaboo, and Super Size Pumpkaboo may also occasionally appear in the wild.

Murkrow, Yamask, Galarian Yamask, Phantump, and Average Size Pumpkaboo will appear in one-star raids; Alolan Marowak, Banette, Halloween Mischief Drifblim, Lampent in three-star raids; and Darkrai (with the Sludge Bomb attack) in five-star raids. Mega Absol will be appearing in Mega Raids for the first time.

From October 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to October 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, a special raid weekend will take place, which Mega Absol and Darkrai will appear more frequently in raids.

Spinarak, Misdreavus, Shuppet, Litwick, and Phantump will be hatching from common 7 km Eggs, while Galarian Yamask and Golett will be hatching from rare 7 km Eggs.

When you complete Field Research tasks, Halloween Mischief Pikachu, Gastly, Spinarak, Shuppet, Duskull, and Halloween Mischief Piplup can often be encountered; and Yamask and Galarian Yamask may occasionally be encountered.

The next part of the Season of Mischief Special Research story, Misunderstood Mischief, will unlock. Professor Willow has a frightening but eye-opening encounter with some Phantump and Trevenant in a forest! This reminds him that Hoopa is also a Ghost-type Pokémon, so perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to do more research on the spooky, spectral Pokémon around us.
