Pokémon GO's Winter Holiday event continues - Don't miss in-game events on Christmas Eve with Winter Wonderland and Hisuian Avalugg Raid Day

Part 2 of Pokémon GO's Winter Holiday 2022 event will be running through until December 31st, at 8:00pm local time. The entire Eevee family will debut their holiday hat appearance in Pokémon GO as part of this event. Niantic has also announced details of the Winter Wonderland and Hisuian Avalugg Raid Day events taking place on Christmas Eve, December 24th.

Winter Holiday Part 2
As part of this event, Eevee can be found wearing a holiday hat. Trainers can evolve their Eevee wearing a holiday hat into any of its Eeveelutions, which will continue wearing its holiday hat. Eeveelutions wearing holiday hats cannot be caught in the wild, and can only be obtained via evolution. Additionally, Trainers will also be able to obtain a Beartic wearing a holiday ribbon. These can only be obtained by evolving a Cubchoo wearing a holiday ribbon.

Event bonuses
Trainers can store up to 40 Gifts until the end of the event.

Stickers

Trainers will be able to receive event-themed stickers during this event by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts, These stickers will also be able for purchase directly from the in-game shop.

Timed Research: Will Your Wish Come True?
Branching Timed Research will be available during this event, allowing Trainers to choose one of three different paths, each offering different tasks and bonuses. The three paths respectively offer bonuses for hatching Eggs, catching Pokémon, and collecting Stardust. Trainers who complete their selected research path will receive a selection of bonus items, as well as have the opportunity to encounter Galarian Mr. Mime and other winter-themed Pokémon.

The event-exclusive paid Timed Research from Winter Holiday Part 1 will also continue to be available until December 30th at 8:00pm local time. Players who complete this research will receive an event-themed avatar pose, along with two Incubators, one Incense, Abomasnow Mega Energy, and various event-themed Pokémon encounters. The associated tasks must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before December 31st at 8:00pm local time.

Kyurem caught between December 23th at 10:00am to January 1st, 2023, at 10:00am local time will know the featured attack Glaciate, which deals 60 Power in Trainer Battles (also decreases opponent's Attack stat when used) and 160 Power in Gyms and raids.

Winter Wonderland
The Winter Wonderland event will be running across Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, starting from 10:00am local time on December 24th, and running through to 8:00pm local time on December 25th.

Event bonuses and activities
The following two bonuses will be active during this event:
  • Trainers will be able to make one extra special trade per day
  • Daily Adventure Incense activated during the event will last for 30 minutes
Collection Challenge
A Collection Challenge will be available as part of the Winter Wonderland event. Trainers who complete this challenge before the end of the event will be able to encounter a Galarian Mr. Mime, as well as receive XP and an Incense.

Permanent Changes to Lucky Pokémon
Alongside this event, two permanent changes are being made to lucky Pokémon.
  • The number of guaranteed Lucky Pokémon that Trainers can receive in a trade has been increased from 10 to 15.
  • Starting from the beginning of this Winter Wonderland event, Pokémon that are traded after having spent time in a Trainer's Pokémon storage since 2017 are guaranteed to become a Lucky Pokémon, up until the limit on Lucky Pokémon is reached.

Hisuian Avalugg Raid Day

A special Raid Day will be held on Christmas Eve, December 24th, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time. During this time, Hisuian Avalugg will be appearing more frequently in three-star raids. Lucky Trainers may even encounter a Shiny one, with increased odds of the Shiny variant appearing. In addition, Trainers will also receive up to five additional daily Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
