Pokémon HOME is a cloud service app that enables Trainers to transfer Pokémon easily between different save files, as well as import Pokémon from Nintendo 3DS titles via Pokémon Bank, which was made free to use with the discontinuation of the Nintendo 3DS eShop in March this year.
The Pokémon that players can take to each game are limited to the Pokémon that appear in those games. For example, newly discovered Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet cannot be transferred to past games, but a Pikachu caught in Pokémon Sword and Shield can be transferred to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Pokémon moved from past games to Pokémon Scarlet or Violet will have a tera type determined by their original type(s).
To celebrate this update, the three Paldean starter Pokémon, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly will be made available as Mystery Gifts to players the first time that they transfer a Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet into Pokémon HOME. Each of these Pokémon will have their Hidden Abilities. These Pokémon can only be obtained using the mobile version of Pokémon HOME, and can only be claimed once per Pokémon HOME account.
Players who have obtained Gimmighoul in its Roaming Form in Pokémon GO will be able to transfer these Pokémon into Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet via Pokémon HOME.
Players can obtain stickers by completing challenges in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME, which can then be used to customize the player's profile. New challenges and stickers will be added from version 3.0.0 onwards, with these presumably focused on Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Changing moves when transferring Pokémon
As the moves that Pokémon can learn in each game differ from those that they can learn in other games, a Pokémon's moves may not remain the same in another game. Up until now, when a Pokémon was taken to another game for the first time from Pokémon Home, the moves that it could use were be determined by its level. From the new Version 3.0.0 onwards, players will now be able to change the moves a Pokémon knows from among a list of moves it has learned up to that point when bringing a Pokémon from Pokémon HOME into a linked game. These moves are limited to those moves that can be learned in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Some moves from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl will not be available to be learned in this manner.
League Points for Pokémon
Players currently receive Pokémon HOME points based on the number of Pokémon transferred to Pokémon HOME from various Pokémon Titles. As of Version 3.0.0, players will now be able to exchange these Pokémon HOME points for League Points (LP), that can then be spent in-game in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
As of Version 3.0.0, players will be able to change the summary pages of individual Pokémon to display information based on games that Pokémon has been in. In the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME, this feature can be used while viewing your Pokémon HOME Boxes without being connected to a game.
Specifically in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME, the summary page of any Pokémon transferred from Pokémon Bank will now show its stats and information as they were in that software. Sending Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Pokémon Bank is permanent, and these Pokémon cannot then be returned to Pokémon Bank at a later date.
