Pokémon Jumbo Jet to be retired: Pokémon-themed plane will make final flight on August 8

Rising fuel costs have forced Japan’s All Nippon Airways to take some of its fleet of aircraft out of commission, including a Boeing 747 that doubles as a Pokémon Jumbo Jet.

When I was a child, one of the things I wished to do if someday I could go to Japan, was taking a flight in that plane (then I didn't knew even its name nor anything, just that famous picture). Well, I guess not anymore x_x

If I read it right, you can still do so, there is that other one that opened in 2011

A shame to see the original Pokémon Jumbo Jet being retired due to rising fuel costs, but at least there's the 2011-commissioned jet to continue the legacy of the older one... :( I can't believe the original Pokémon jet has been in service for 15 years! 0_o

In any case, may the newer jet have many years of future flying and attaining the heights reached by grand aerial Pokémon such as Ho-Oh and Rayquaza. :) (..and hopefully I can fly on it someday, too).
