I got an amber alert at 5:15 this morning so I guess I am awake for this Presents. I was really going into it like "well I'll set a single alarm but if I don't wake up for it that's fine." and then the world finds a way of waking me up 45 minutes beforehand. So, predictions with 3 and a half hours of sleep let's go.

• Pokemon Home Update
• Pokemon Sleep and/or some other mobile title
• Some sort of mention of Legends Arceus. Might not even be DLC, just a mention of it, or even just footage of it.
• A tease of whatever is coming next.

Keeping my expectations low for this, so if we get anything more than this I'll be pleasantly surprised. If there's nothing too exciting I might wait to post my thoughts on it later and just go back to bed.

Spain or Italy by my reckoning. The map looked more like Iberia.

I'm cautiously optimistic then. Not sure I like Gen 9 being released so early but I assume it was developed alongside Legends.

I'm calling it, these games are going to feel rushed. I cannot see them handling two large scale console games back to back well. Should've spent an extra year on this.

I will say, the graphics still look pretty rough. Only about as rough as Legends' graphics, though.

Honestly, given how barren Legends is, and its short storyline, I think it's perceived as being larger and more work than it actually is.

They really did the thing everyone was hoping they wouldn't do and I'm not even mad. A little meh on the timing, but I guess it is what it is.

Gen 9 aside, the Legends update looks fun imo, at least for free content. Nice way to catch some mons like Wrydeer without having to use agile style Psyshield 20 times too. Guess it's time to go back to my main file for a while.

Okay, I know Gen 9 is the big thing here, but I need time to process on that. So I'm going to talk about the Legends DLC.

I am happy we are seeing a free content update, and I hope that means we'll see more for the game throughout the year. I really like how it looks like some of the outbreaks won't be exclusive to the areas the Pokemon are normally found in. It makes me wonder to see if this update is locked behind being past the credit scene. I'm going to guess so. But I am always glad to see more content for this. I've had so much fun with it thus far, and just having more to do distracting me from research tasks will be amazing.

Yeah, it is a very bad idea to release the games so soon. I was literally saying "well hopefully they don't release until 2023" when the "coming late 2022" banner popped up lmao. There's no way they can release a mainline Pokemon game with the level of polish it deserves under these kinds of deadlines.

Really psyched for the web series. A Hisui Twilight Wings-esque thing is what I was hoping for, but thought we'd know about it by now and that the time had passed.

Yeah, it is a very bad idea to release the games so soon. I was literally saying "well hopefully they don't release until 2023" when the "coming late 2022" banner popped up lmao. There's no way they can release a mainline Pokemon game with the level of polish it deserves under these kinds of deadlines.

Consider the timing, though. If they release Gen 9 now, they can take four years to work on Gen 10 in time for their 30th anniversary, which is probably what they're planning.
