Pokémon Masters EX - Update
A new version of Pokémon Masters EX, version 2.41.0, is now available to download. Together with this update, the monthly message from the producers of Pokémon Masters EX has teased several upcoming events and changes in-game over the coming month, including a new Time Trial Event featuring Chase & Pikachu from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!, and the new Battle Rally feature. The next letter from the producers is slated to be released in late-February.

Update Summary
The full changelog from the Version 2.41.0 update can be read here. Below, we've summarized the more notable changes with this update. Except where otherwise noted, these updates will become available in-game from January 30th, at 10:00pm (PST).

New content for the Mysterious Stones Chapter
A brand new story area for the Mysterious Stones Chapter, The Creator of All Things, is now available in-game. To access this area, players will need to have acquired a minimum of 300 Mysterious Stones. These can be obtained as completion rewards from Daily Region Rotation battles, as well as rarely from Trainer Lodge expeditions, and from some area info in the Training Areas.

Mysterious Stones that are exchanged in Monthly Exchanges will still count for unlocking this and other areas for the Mysterious Stones Chapter, as these unlocks are based on stones acquired rather than stones on hand.

Wally & Gallade
Trainer Lodge Update

Wally, the rival character from the Pokémon games set in the Hoenn region, will be available to be invited to the Trainer Lodge from January 31st, at 10:00pm (PST). To invite Wally, players will need to have teamed up with Wally & Gallade from a Sync Pair scout.

At the same time as this update, the Palentine's Day Style will also be added as a selectable option for redecorating the trainer lodge.

Item Exchange Updates
The Old Items tab is being removed from the Item Exchange, and is being replaced with the new Rally tab. Trainers will be able to exchange Battle Rally Medals acquired from the Battle Rally for Roll Cake Coin Voichers and other assorted items. Roll Cake Coin Vouchers will themselves be exchangeable for Roll Cake Coins from the General tab.

Battle Villa Update
The Battle Villa is being updated to become permanent content, instead of being on rotating availability. After this update, players able to play the Battle Villa at any time from the Side Area menu.

Chase & Pikachu
Chase & Pikachu debut alongside a brand new Time Trial Event

A brand new Time Trial Event, Let's Go for Number One!, will launch focused on Chase & Pikachu from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!
Time trial events are a rare type of limited-time event in Pokémon Masters EX, having only previously been run 5 times since the original Race to Victory event in November 2020. These events challenge players to complete battles in a short amount of time, with players being ranked from Grade C to Grade S and awarded points according to how long they take to win a battle. Event Rewards are then earned by players for reaching certain point milestones.

Chase & Pikachu are an Electric-type Support Sync Pair with a Sprint EX Role. This pair comes with a move that applies a brand new Field Effect, Kanto Circle (Special). If this is anything like the Circle effect applied by Nate (Champion) & Haxorus, we can expect this effect to powers up the special attack and sync moves of the player's team by 10%, as well as reducing the special attack and sync move damage received by their team by 5%. These values would be boosted when the team includes additional Sync Pairs with the KantoTheme skill, up to a maximum of 40% power-up and 14% damage reduction. In addition to this Circle effect, Chase & Pikachu have a selection of Passive Skills providing buffs to their whole team. One of these increases all allies' speed and evasiveness by 1 stat rank, and Chase & Pikachu's own Defense and Sp. Def by one stat rank, any time that Chase & Pikachu use a Trainer Move. Another Passive Skill provides healing to all allies whenever Chase & Pikachu are hit by an attack move.

Battle Rally - Key Art
Battle Rally

As last previewed back in November's developer letter update, Pokémon Masters is is introducing new challenging battle content with the Battle Rally. As described in the developer letter, in this content players will complete a series of up to 10 battles, gaining Rally Points with every win which can be used to power-up their sync pairs for the rest of the gauntlet with consumable items purchased from the Rally Shop between each battle. Players will be able to earn bonus points from each battle by using Sync Pairs with certain specified roles.

To challenge the Battle Rally, players will need to have a Battle Rally Pass, which will be obtainable in limited numbers from regular weekly missions. Players will receive 3 Battle Rally Passes as part of a Log-In bonus beginning on January 30th to commemorate the addition of this new feature.

Players will need to purchase items from the Rally Shop to succeed at the increasingly difficult battles, but at the same time, the rewards for defeating the Battle Rally will be based on the number of Rally Points players have remaining. These leftover Rally Points will be converted to Battle Rally Medals, which can then be used in the new Rally tab in the Exchange menu to receive items such as Roll Cake Coin Vouchers. Players will need to balance their greed for better rewards with the Rally Point purchases they need to make to have any chance to get rewards in the first place.

Other upcoming Updates and Events
Team up with another Poké Kid sync pair

An event will begin on February 1st where players will be able to team up with Petey (Poké Kid) & Pikachu. Presumably, similar to Eve before him, we can expect Petey to be dressed in a Pikachu costume to complement his sync partner Pokémon.

New Seasonal Story Event
Pokémon Masters EX will once again be debuting a new Seasonal Story Event for Palentine's. Though no further details have been given at this time, players can safely assume that new Seasonal Sync Pairs should launch alongside this event, together with scouts allowing for players to acquire past Palentine's themed Seasonal Sync Pairs.

Run-Up to the Four and a Half Year Anniversary
A number of special events and rallies will be coming to the game starting in mid-February with the start of the Run-Up to 4.5 Years Celebration. Though no specific details have been given on exactly what these events will entail, based on past years players should expect a variety of log-in bonuses to be made available, as well as a new Mission Bingo.

New photo feature for Player Profiles
Profile Feature Expansion

As announced back at the end of August last year, an update is coming at the end of February which will expand customization options for players Profiles. Coming alongside this update is the addition of a Photo feature, allowing players to take snapshots of with trainers in various poses, which can then be displayed on player's profiles.

Changes to Sync Grids
In a future update, the energy cap for Sync Grids will be increased, allowing players more flexibility in how they improve their Sync Pairs.

Quality of Life Improvements
The developers are currently working on features to allow players to save Lucky Skills and switch between them depending on the battle.
