Masters Pokémon Masters General Discussion Thread

So I just tried a strategy recommended to me against Iris that involved swapping Skyla back out for Korrina, and it came so damn close to working, too. But once Iris gets her Sync Move in, she KO’s my entire team at once, even with Seel and Lucario at full health. Sooo now fucking what?

I evolved Seel for this battle I think, but I can imagine you don't want to spend the recourses on that if you're not planning to use Pryce much in the future.

The way I tackled this battle (I had Olivia, Rosa, Pryce):
  1. Focus on attacking Haxorus, not the side mons. You want to kill the thing before it can use its sync move.
  2. First set up: Rosa does X SpAtk All twice, Pryce does Dire Hit twice.
  3. Meanwhile Olivia hits Haxorus as many times as she can so your own sync move builds up. You can use any team member with a 1 gauge move for this really.
  4. Pryce uses Icy Wind, it hits all targets for a nice amount of damage because of the setting up and it lowers the target's speed, so it builds up its sync move slower (at least I think that's how speed works in this game?)
  5. Use Pryce's sync move as soon as it's ready.
  6. Keep focusing on killing Haxorus until it's dead.
  7. Finish off the side mons.
If you're already doing all this and it doesn't work the only other advice is to simply keep leveling up with the level training course. Overleveling beats everything eventually heh.

Well, I don’t have Olivia yet, so Korrina will have to do. I’ll try ignoring the Pokémon on the side next time and using all four boosts right away.

But yea, leveling them up isn’t really an option for me as all of those members in question have gone as high as they can go for me :v

Anyways, thanks for the advice, I’ll give it a shot!

Completed the main story and now I'm a bit disappointed because they actually ended the story right before you get to battle Lear.
Does anybody happen to know when they're gonna release the next chapters?

Well, all there's left to do now is grinding and farming and grinding and farming...

Wish I had the phone storage for this game. Been keeping up with my friend's escapades and I'm loving Lear and co. I personally hope they add the rest of the Frontier Brains because Thorton got confirmed one week while I was on the clock at work and I just about lost my entire mind.

Maybe we had to wait for future chapters. Then Looker will join the fray and investigate Team Break. And Colress gonna study on Sync Pairs while he gonna be annoyed by Team Break peeps. Anabel, Guzma, Plumeria and Archie will be among random tourists who offers you to battle them in order to let them join us.

We have to battle Looker this time around if he gets added as a Sync Pair, given that we haven't battled him in core games so far.

His only Pokemon is dead, though. While the timeline in Masters is iffy (possibly due to Hoopa), it would be weird to battle Croagunk (or with it) at this point.

Looker could get another Pokémon though, if he wants to get into Pasio.

He is a Fighting-type specialist so... Perhaps a new Croagunk for him.

Pretty sure he'll get Croagunk, it's not like he has another choice Pokémon on him. The only other Pokémon he has been seen using is Growlithe in Generations, but that spot has pretty much already been taken by Marley

Doesn’t Alder use a Volcarona despite the fact that he previously owned another Volcarona that died. While it could be a little weird that Looker just has a replacement goldfish Croagunk, I don’t think it’s compeltely out of the question.

There is no problem getting another Pokémon of same species even if the previous ones passed away. It's true for player characters and maybe NPCs. And there are no restrictions on that either so Looker might just get another Croagunk for Pasio.

They can just have him get another one.

In Misty's sync story, she mentions that the Starmie with her is not the same one she uses in gym battles. So getting a new Pokemon just for the PML is not our of the question.

So... we got compensation gems for bug fixes, and...
124935
that's 5990 more than what I was expecting. i hope this game turns into a buggy mess now

Man those 6000 gems are the best, Masters just went up a whole lot in the 'generous gacha game' status. Though now it's making hope to have more bugs in the future lol. It's still pretty weird that their starting event doesn't even give enough gems for one 10-pull but a bug is enough to get two 10-pulls  Not complaining though, I'm glad they're so generous when it comes to bugs, just still baffled that the starting event gave so little.

In other news, the starting dates of the Water and Grass-type events were datamined: sept 17th for Grass (which includes a banner with Lyra) and sept 24th for Water (including a banner with Hilbert). I'm really happy with this, cause from what I've read people were expecting Hilbert first and I want Lyra so bad but saving is hard . So I'm glad she's already up next tuesday so I can use the 6000 gems then :giggle: Still hoping to get Roxie, Gardenia, Maylene, Shauntal and Roxanne too.

I do hate that the events are so grindy though. I'm still working on the 20x both co-op events of Blue to get those 5* tickets and now each of those elemental type events have 10x both co-op events missions too. I don't have time for all thisssss but ugh gym notes are rare enough that I do have to do it. It doesn't help that co-op is extremely boring imo, you're forced to play on the slowest battle speed and the amount of damage you do is so little that is just takes forever to get the battle done. Very sad that this seems to be the 'main' mode of the game, I'd rather play with my own teams more, especially since I like so many units that I have like 5 different teams already ^^;
