Masters Pokémon Masters General Discussion Thread

Well, Jessie and James are in Yellow and LGPE, so I think it still stands. They just used a little loophole.

Unlike other characters that have made appearances in the anime (i.e. Iris, Clemont, etc.), Jessie and James in Pokemon Masters have their original anime voice actors.

Plus, Meowth actually speaks in Pokemon Masters as well, unlike in LGPE. Adding in the appearance of Shiny Celebi, I think, at the very least, even if TRio in Pokemon Masters are not the main anime version, they are still the M20/21/23 version.

Since they have opened the door for anime characters, I do hope they will consider manga characters as well. Red (Pokemon Special) with Venusaur, or Red (Pokemon Pocket Monsters) with Clefairy would be cool appearances! What would be other manga characters that everyone here would like to see?

That said, I'd prefer it to just be game stuff. The anime already needlessly invades everything. Keep it out of somewhere for once.

Lusamine had Clefable yeah. (But I assume Lusamine will come with Nihilego considering her obsession. Or Bewear.) Most notable one is Lillie, I suppose.

I wish they could bring spin-off characters into the game as well. Pokemon Ranger characters would be cool to me, even if they technically can't battle. Like Lunick/Solana and their Minun/Plusle.

Conquest might be kinda problematic, since, while they are public domain characters, the designs belong to Tecmo-Koei. I wonder how Snap would work.

I would compare it more with King of Fighter. Not only it was the original crossover fighting game, it also has 3-on-3 combat, although not at the same time like Masters.

Good Lord, I don't think any of us were expecting them to pull a Steven & Alolan Sandslash Sync Pair out of nowhere! So I guess the backstory is that he caught it while on vacation in Alola? If so, did Cynthia go with him & will she have Alolan Ninetales?

That would actually be very cool (no pun intended), but a part of me is afraid the other summer Sync pair will just be another blatant bait-and-switch...like Misty & Mega Gyarados or something like that.

As for their choice, I'm pleasantly surprised here, but at the same time I just can't help but feel Alolan Golem would've fit him better. Yes, Steven's technically a Steel-type specialist, but his hobby is collecting rare stones, so you'd think the Alolan Golem line would've struck more of a chord with him - especially since they're found on Ula'ula Island just like Alolan Sandslash.

As for the one-year anniversary celebration, I'll be happy as long as we get Sygna Red, Blue, and Leaf.

I've been quite inactive on these forums, but I had to come back to scream about Summer Steven. He looks great!! It's also nice to see him wear something other than his suit. That's one of the things I love about Pokemon Masters; the potential to see all these neat characters in new outfits.

I have enough gems to guarantee him if my luck is bad, though I hope I can grab a Summer Steven without having to spend all of my gems because I'd like to see what we get for the anniversary. I hope we don't get an N sync pair just yet just because I really want Summer Steven and I don't want to end up without gems for N. He's one of the top three characters I want in this game (Steven, N and Curtis). On the other hand, we might get a good amount of free gems with the upcoming anniversary celebrations. Hmm.

If Pokemon Masters ever does release a Summer Misty Sync Pair, they already have a pretty good reference for her outfit from the Pokemon SM anime (Episode 102).

In fact, I would love it if they do that. I'm not a fan of the rounder/simpler aesthetic they gave to Misty in the SM anime (a bit too bubbly for my taste), so having her SM vacation look in the style of Pokemon Masters would be awesome.
