Masters Pokémon Masters General Discussion Thread

...oh, and on another note, can we just talk about how AWESOME this is and how hyped I am for Renegade Cynthia now?

So does this mean Jupiter and Skuntank is going to be in the game now as a sync partner?

I absolutely adore Cynthia's new renegade outfit
Just when you think Cynthia can't get any better, she'll prove you wrong. My greatest wish has always been to see a superhero-form of Cynthia and this must be it! Together with that epic music from the spot which simply fits perfectly, Cynthia looks like a queen, an ancient priest, an angel. No, that's not enough, there must be a better way of describing her right:
She looks like a goddess! :notworthy:

Hi, I just started playing pokemon masters, and I would like to know if you can aim at the pokemon that you want to hit or its always random. Also, the type effectiveness chart follows most of the pokemon games or the pokemon are only weak to the moves the game says they are weak to? Ex: I battled 1 marill and 2 starlys. The game said marill was weak to grass and starly was weak to rock. I used pikachu because I assumed it would be strong against all. But onix made more damage against the starlys than pikachu.

Each Pokémon in Masters EX has only one weakness, the one you see in battle. And yes, you can choose which Pokémon to aim at.

If you want to absolutely be sure, double tap in and see that the Pokemon that aren't currently attacking face it.

Just tonight at 10:00, we are going to have the new chapter of the Villain Arc. I watch what was in the preview:

1. Lucas has an Infernape instead of an Empoleon (must’ve got it from Grand Underground).
2. Sequel to New World Dilemma. Shows a clip of Sochpholes saying to Cyrus that they can’t be friends if they lose human spirit.

UPDATE:
Apparently this May, we'll have the Johto chapter (something I didn't expect, I thought they weren't).[/SPOILER}

...so that new announcement huh

I do wonder, will DeNA do another Interlude or release new stories each month. I also wonder if they’ll do an Interlude that is not Paulo and maybe like PML II Interlude or a Lear Interlude?

I miss having more chapters included in the main story. I hope DeNA will release the chapters more monthly.

I just started playing this game a few weeks ago and I've gotten many of my characters up to Lv. 120-130, but I keep losing badly in some of these battles where the recommended level is Lv. 100-120 (most notably my Lv. 130 N & Zekrom can get 2HKO'd by Will & Xatu in the Daily Regional Rotation at Intermediate level which is recommended Lv. 100. It seems like it should be the other way around). Now I have seen online that the recommended levels are notoriously inaccurate, but they don't really explain how to actually getting their team strong enough to take on these challenges. So what DO you need to actually even out your stats? I've been trying just about everything (raising my sync pairs levels even higher than the recommended level, leveling up my sync grid, leveling up my theme skills) and it barely moves the needle in those battles.

The daily regional rotation is intentionally set up in a way you can't brute force it. If you use pairs from the respective region, you get the stat boost needed to clear the stages (Think of a hidden modifyer to Will or a hidden nerf to your own non-Johto stuff).

So in other words the theme skills matter more than anything else?

Yeah, that's going to be... a problem. There aren't any Johto Electric specialists that can take out his Xatu. Unless they boost Kanto sync pairs in that battle and I can use Lt. Surge, that's kind of an unfair challenge because it has a weakness to a type that doesn't really have an associated specialist of that region.

But then, I don't particularly need help with that one, I can just barely beat it. I just mentioned it because it's a noteworthy example of the absurdity of this game's stat system. I'm more concerned with some of the time limited events, those are the ones I haven't been able to beat (for example, the Team Rocket events that have been going on lately, the Alola themed Town Square Street Fair, etc.).

Do you just happen to play with teams consisting of 3 strikers? Or do you just have a very shallow roster? Cause the Alola fair event regular stages shouldn't be that hard that you can't beat them.

I'm not talking about the regular stages, I can blow through those. It's the Fantina battle giving me trouble, my strongest Ice type is Lv. 130 Ghetsis & Kyurem and I'm only dealing a silver of damage against her with each attack. My other options for Ice types are Candice & Abomasnow, Lorelei & Lapras, Pryce & Dewgong, Wulfric & Avalugg, and Brycen & Cryogonal. I do not have Hala & Crabominable to get a boost for using Alola characters (which seems to be the only Ice type sync pair in Alola). For Dark types I did get Nanu through the story, I don't have him trained up quite enough but it shouldn't take me too long (he's Lv. 100), but having the correct Ice type for Fantina's Drifblim is the problem point.

Ugh, they made the evolution battle for Hilda & Pignite waaaaaaay too hard. You have to fight Cheren & Stoutland and the recommended level is Lv. 45, but at Lv. 51 I was getting my ass kicked (again, small slivers of damage against Stoutland, Pignite kept taking huge chunks of damage, and he can heal repeatedly). I tried leveling up again to about Lv. 61, still not enough. SMH guys, this is basically a scripted battle and the stats/difficulty are way off. I don't really need Hilda RN, I just like to have all of my sync pairs evolved, but I'll definitely be skipping this one until I need a Unova Fire type. Still though, a scripted battle like this should be nowhere near this difficult.

EDIT: Got a few lower tier level up manuals so I decided to give this another shot and finally beat it... at Lv. 77. Ridiculous that I had to be 30 levels above the recommended level to win a scripted battle. Fix this shit DeNA!

N is coming in a Summer Outfit with Zoroak.

I also hope DeNA negotiates to add more content to the Main Story.
