Spoilers Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: DX

Wait, how did you manage to beat the game before level 36? I had to grind to almost 40 to beat the original game.

I'll be honest with you; it was a LOT of luck and my team were all Level 34 by the end of the main story.

Mainly during instances like against Rayquaza, my Treecko has Dragonbreath and I luckily kept paralyzing it with that, then kept hitting it with Heracross' Fury Attack which never misses because of it's Quality thing.

I've also found that Seeds and Orbs are pretty useless in Boss battles much like in the original, so counting on luck with moves that have added effects is probably your best bet. I'd also recommend trying your hardest to get Dojo tickets or going to dungeons with the powerful Pokemon "!" thing and they give you a lot of EXP most of the time.

Thanks! I always try to take a lot of Reviver Seeds with me on longer missions but I can't believe I haven't heard of the Helper Orb until now, I just googled it and it says that another rescue team will come and help you?! That's awesome, is the rescue team that comes to help always random and are they from the home town or something? So like Alakazam's team will come and help?

Not Alakazam's team, but rather rescue teams that are made up of the various evolved forms of the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn starters. But they are absolutely worth it! You can use Helper Orbs against bosses! I used them against Rayquaza and the three legendary dogs, and they helped me massively!

Ah ok, that actually sounds super helpful, especially when I get home tonight and start trying to recruit the legends ect, thanks a lot :D

Seeds do work in boss battles. I only managed to beat Zapdos because I managed to temporarily paralyze it with seeds, but then again, my main character was Squirtle so I needed all the help I could.

We just got an official Japanese YouTube video again. I think this one explains why the Team Base matches the player character's type, instead of the partner's.

That reminds me, most of the "made for kids" changes are stupid. Adding videos to playlists, minimising them on mobile, or previewing them doesn't harm anyone. Once I told a YouTuber that a video of hers was marked as made for kids, and she responded with a rude remark. /rant

Has anyone translated these machinima videos?

Am I allowed to post rescue requests here? I posted one on Twitter yesterday, but the only person who responded thought it was the same as a previous rescue request, and I was ignored on Reddit.

personally i don't see why not, unless someone wants to make a PMD DX rescue request thread or something.

I'm steadily making my way through Purity Forest (Yes, really) with my Charizard leading the way. Managed to make it to floor 81 before getting killed for the sixth time. But seriously, internet rescues are a blessing, and I'm so glad Purity Forest lets you recruit Pokemon now when it wouldn't let you before. I'll get Celebi yet! I did it before and I can do it again!

The game had an unexpected error when I was on floor 45 of the Southern Cavern. Fortunately, it turns out the game auto-saves in dungeons so I started back up on the same floor.

Things are going well. I basically have three parties now:

A Team--James (Hero Meowth), Janine (partner Treecko), Manectric (early recruit). These guys are buffed up with vitamins and they have Steamroller on Partner, Leap Ahead on Manectric, and Squad Up on Hero so they can recruit and have the most combat potential. When a job needs to be done? These are who you call.

B Team--Guan Chu (Pikachu), Haunter, Flygon. For easier dungeons that don't require A Team's attention. Guan Chu has Small Stomach so they're good for lengthy missions where food might be a concern. I got a payload of Evolution Crystals lately so I'll evolve them.

C Team--Masquerain. She has Food Finder so I use her to go to Howling Forest or Sinister Woods for apple grinding.

Among the Legendary Pokémon I've recruited the three birds, the Eons, and Kyogre so far. I also did Gengar's missions.

How do you unlock the Three Fields and Latios subplots? I just went through Solar Cave, but I haven't unlocked either, and I haven't beat Stormy Sea yet. Do you have to do the postgame in a linear order now?

It's not linear, I've got three post-game quests active right now, but I am confused. I have the Three Fields but I'm getting different answers on how to unlock it--some way you need to clear Buried Relic to unlock those and the Latis (not true because I haven't entered it but have both those quests).
In my case I think Spinda appeared after I cleared Waterfall Pond, but I'm not certain.

The Latios plot seemed to appear after I cleared Stormy Sea, and the first site I checked agreed, but Serebii says to clear Solar Cave and buy the Southern Island camp.

This might be a false memory from the original games, but don't you need Surf to unlock the fields?

I used a Helper Orb during a Monster House in Southern Cavern... and the other team all died. In the same dungeon, my escort died on the required floor, and the game decides to prolong the inevitable by waiting for you to revive the escort even if you can't. Currently, I need rescuing:
