Well I personally cannot wait for this game to be released. To me, incorporating Pokemon into a fuedal Japanese strategy game sounds like an inspired idea. Sure, having a geneticly modified Pokemon (Mewtwo) and the embodiment of the modern age (Zekrom) seems a little out of place, but if the game plays as well as I think its going to, I really wont care more than just thinking "How odd...ok, back to conquering Japan with my Jolteon!"

Besides, the artwork is absolutely beautiful. I could stare at it for hours...and it gives Pokemon a slightly more "mature" feel, like Game Freak is finally understanding that a large percentage of their market are old enough to remember a time when Pokeballs could miss, and Steel and Dark types were unheard of. So right now, Im giving this game a massive tumbs up. Cannot wait to see more of this.

Evidently, according to a translation I've seen, when you capture the 17 castles of Ranse, a legend will appear.

Im guessing its Arceus since it was in the trailer.

I hope this game will be translated in Europe. I have also not heard of Nobunaga's Ambition until the Jump Festa. I didn't expect this to be announced at the Festa, I thought it may be Keldeo, Gray or M15 details.

Two reasons why I believe this game will get an international release.

1. The Nobunaga's Ambition franchise has previously enjoyed wide international release. You guys are probably way too young to remember the NES and SNES games. The NES is on the US Virtual Console actually, if you want to go take a look. The most recent international release was on the PS2, with Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle.

2. Power Rangers Samurai. No, seriously. This US adaption of Shinkenger is exposing kids to some aspects of Japanese culture (if not very much), which may give this game a wider potential base.

Also:

3. It's got "Pokémon" in the title, so it will sell anyway?

THANK YOU. I'm so sick of seeing people dismiss games that aren't part of the main series as if they don't count. The Pokemon Ranger games were fantastic, and PokePark, while flawed, was an entertaining way to spend however many hours it took to complete.

Don't forget Pokemon Snap.

4. It seems to be geared at older fans who would not only appreciate the genre but also its Japanese origins.

I don't think it's literally Japn but a region based of of Feudal Japan... maybe Ranse is the Captial Region of the Pokemon Nation the birthplacce? that assuming this would be considered Canon

I'm thinking of an ancient country that eventually became another region in the modern era. How many countries used to be parts of other countries and empires in the distant past?

I like the idea of Ranse being the capital region.... maybe onne of the cities could be Tokio City (a mythology gag from the Anime novolasations... which said the capital of the nation was called Tokio City(

Does that mean that your Eevee will rule the world with an iron fist?

Maybe not Eevee...but Hitmonchan might.
*coughcough* Golurk *coughhack* Golett
Sorry, just had to clear my throat there. (Hey, this is me you guys are dealing with. If you didn't see that one coming...)

I want this game. Badly. But what I'd like to know is: are we going to have access to all Pokemon are only a select few? I'm hoping we can get all of 'em, because I wants me a Golett army with a few Golurk generals. For that would be made of awesome and win. It's the only way to take over a country, you know. :XD:

This game looks so badass. I want it. I hope we have the chance to evolve our Eevee. Well, okay, we probably will.

I wonder how many pokemon will be usable in this game.

I think that's why they're giving you Eevee in this game. It's capacity to evo to several different types. That is if this one acts like the others in the series and you can choose who you're aligned to. (BTW, if there's a water guy and he doesn't have Samurott, I will be severely disappointed)

I noticed something...

While looking up other Nobunaga's Ambition games, I noticed they tend to stick to a more photorealistic art style, as opposed to the anime-esqe art style typical of modern JRPGS. However, this one has an anime-esqe art style itself.

I'm presuming it's to help the Pokemon fit in better, which is why I'm not complaining - I'm a fan of the style despite it being in practically every JRPG, and it's better than mixing photorealistic humans with cartoony Pokemon, or worse, trying to make the Pokemon photorealistic...

I think they still made the humans a bit more detailed than they should be, still creating a contrast between them and Pokemon.

Good point. It's different from the style of the main games, for sure. Though I think my point still stands.

Another thing I'm wondering is whether they will change the human character's names in localization. Doing so makes it lose its whole "historical" thing.

I hope not. It would be weird seeing a Japanese samurai character named "Robert Barns" in the game. :V

I doubt they will. When it's something important, the names don't (for example, Morimoto stays as Morimoto in Black and White). Besides, the game already has a very Japanese feel, so there's really no point to go that far with localisations.
