I doubt they will. When it's something important, the names don't (for example, Morimoto stays as Morimoto in Black and White). Besides, the game already has a very Japanese feel, so there's really no point to go that far with localisations.
Well, if TPC is in charge of it, its not as if they haven't made ridiculous localisations before.

Change already-English named item to another English name that isn't catchier? Check.

Change Japanese names to other Japanese names? Check.

But then again, they leave the Japanese names of real people as is. Just look at Morimoto and Kiri. And, these Japanese names are based on famous historical characters in Japan. The Japanese officials could just request for the names to stay the same anyway.

This game looks very cool and interesting with its story, characters and gameplay. It's getting A LOT of attention since it's something you don't usually expect from Pokemon to release. I personally haven't played many turn based strategy games but I did like the ones that I've played. It's about time that a new title that isn't a sequel to a title (ex PMD 1 to PMD 2) is finally getting released. Pokemon Typing DS was designed for Japan only. Pokemon Nobunaga's Ambition can be translated into other languages. If it does good enough it might get localized and hopefully have an anime for itself be produced! It has the potential! They did it with PMD 2, having 2 episodes I think. Pokemon Ranger got advertized in a few episodes in the Hoenn and Sinnoh arc.

I've read some of the comments in the trailer that SeribiiSPP uploaded and I must say, there were some very rude comments. Here are some of them:

pls som1 tell me why do they create those stupids games? (like pokemon ranger, pokemon mystery dungeon...)

COME ON!!! These side games are getting annoying to see. I miss Pokemon Coliseum and Pokemon XD, those were the only good side games, but they were still "Pokemon". Not this crap, I want actual Pokemon where you battle and catch like how the good pokemon games are.

THEY JUST RUINED SW and POKEMON.

It's okay to not like it but to insult it just because it isn't the franchise's main game is not okay. There are different teams with different people working in the games. The development of other games isn't in any way affected. Maybe the release dates are, but that's to let every game have its time to shine.

I'm assuming SW meant Samurai Warriors, in which case that post is incredibly funny considering that this game apparently ruins a series that's not at all involved in this cross-over.

I think they still made the humans a bit more detailed than they should be, still creating a contrast between them and Pokemon.

Thats one of the best things about this imo. It really makes this side game stick out alot more than any of the others. Makes it look more mature and serious. The designs are also incredibly visually pleasing.

I'd say that Pokemon has taken a step in badass. If only there were an anime equivalent...

It's somewhat related. While the title is "Nobunaga's Ambition," a lot of the character designs are ported in from Koei's other samurai-based series, mainly SW.

That said, the character Sakon Shima looks to be in the trailer, based on his SW2 design. He's the one behind the Gabite.

I don't see how its good that the monsters this franchise was named for looks out of place. Though they seem to look fine in sprite form.

Mature themes =/= good game either. You could spend the whole game killing everything and that won't make it good. The art style has to flow properly with the rest of the game. that's why Toon Link art is good for the comedic styles Phantom Hourglass and Spirit tracks takes. I'm sure the art is good for the game as well here, its just that the Pokemon either have to get a bit more detailed upward, or the humans have to downscale themselves.

But its really a minor thing that probably can't be helped due to the nature of the games.

This game looks epic.
Everything about it does.

I am a little dissapointed that it isn't for the 3DS though.
I would have loved to see the Pokedex 3D models put to good use.
I also have trouble playing games which use the touch screen for the action.

I'm hoping if they use the touch screen that they don't use the L+R buttons since mine are broken D:

This seems interesting. Not saying I'll buy it, since I've only ever bought the main series games (as much as Ranger has tempted me otherwise). The only game I've ever played that looks like this sort of game genre/type is Final Fantasy: War of the Lions on PSP (judging by the screens shown). I really enjoyed that, so if this is similar I might actually give it a shot.

I hope they make every pokemon available in it, though.

They've shown Pokemon from every generation in just previews, so why not?

I'd much rather they only use Pokemon that they find suitable. I find that Ranger 3 had a bit of trouble by trying to include every Pokemon (kind of). Though it is a cross-over, so alternate histories could allow for all 649.

They have frakking Mewtwo in there. :p It's an alternate history unless Celebi or Dialga was somehow involved in that.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again.... please be released outside of Japan.

From what I've read on Wikipedia, Nobunaga's Ambition is kind of like one of those simulation games where you take over countries 'n whatnot. Does that mean that your Eevee will rule the world with an iron fist?

No, Magikarp will rule the world!!!!

No no, SW stands for Star Wars. The next game is a Pokemon x Star Wars crossover with interplanetary Pokemon battling.

... I can dream can't I?

HORAY! Proof that Pokemon aren't moving straight to the 3DS! That little DS still has life in it for another generation!

Also, I'm hoping this game gets an EU release. It looks quite interesting. Though I must admit, it wasn't the game I was hoping would be announced.

I kinda thinkthis is the swan song for the DS... I honestly can't see Grey being on theDS now... I think the Styles were for this game... seeing how the 3DS will have been out over a year now they will probibly put Grey on the 3DS

Why would the styles be for this game when they are movie related which has nothing to do with Pokemon x Ambition?

It is a possibility though that grey could be on the 3DS, because if they take a while to release it then there won't be much point in staying on the DS. However when you think about it, Pokemon Grey would be a much better "swan song" for Pokemon on the DS.

I say that its a 60/40 chance of Grey being purely on the DS at this point. Basically the more time goes by the more likely it could be released purely on the newer platform.

But what about RSE remakes (if they're happening at all)?

Not in this generation I don't think, but the next. If they do release Grey on the DS then that means that gen 5 might as well be over with.

Gen 6 would provide a full transition to the 3DS as opposed to needlessly extending gen 5 with RSE remakes.
