Call the game "Nobby-Poo's Magical Froo-Froo Paradise" for all I care, I'm just glad they kept the characters' names intact.
I'm glad they're localizing this and greatly look forward to playing it.

Now, let's hope a European release is announced in the coming days...

I can understand the frustration related to title changes, but you have to admit that "Nobunaga's Ambition" doesn't exactly trip off the tongue.
Indeed. I also imagine that the change was because Pokémon Conquest sounds a lot better to kids than Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition...heck, how many kids could even pronounce "Nobunaga"?

It was obviously a decision simply made for marketing, as all of the historical figures in the game appear to be keeping their names (although we've only seen two of them in English screenshots so far) and the official announcement has outright pointed to the game's relation to Nobunaga's Ambition (having "Ambition" in the announcement's title and referring to Nobunaga's Ambition in the announcement text; even if it doesn't say that it's a crossover).

Ooh, that's awesome. 8D I've never played a Nobunga's Ambition game before (never even HEARD of it till the crossover!), so this will be a good chance to try a new game with familiar characters!

also, Nobunga and the characters in the game are based off of real people? D8

Watch, name change.

Nobunaga = Norbert

EDIT: Damn, names kept. I guess there won't be a chapter called Norbert's Ambition or something for the postgame.

Not sure if I'll get this, although I do like turn-based strategy games (Final Fantasy Tactics ftw).

Though on the negative side; it might be beating a particularly whiny dead horse at this point but I...really fucking hate the Pokemon logo. I can't think of any other video game franchise that just slaps the same logo on every single time without changing it to some extent. At least give it that metallic silver sheen, sheesh!

I don't mind. I mean, if I did, I'd feel like I was annoyingly nitpicking little stuff that don't really concern me. Besides, it's not right to judge a game by it's logo.

YES

This is the greataestsdfgdsfkgjsldkg slgkjsdl gsdss!
dgjmkhd!!!!!

I'm so glad this is getting localized. I was really excited when it came out and I did have a bit of doubt even though I considered the possibility.
I do wonder if my prediction was right and we might see a Nobunaga's Ambition game localized in the future like it happened with Shiren the Wanderer...

Waiting impatiently for word on the European release date.

Also regarding some name changes... I am one who preffers Japanese names, but I wouldn't mind localizations if they make sense. "Izumi" means fountain, and given these names represent types, I would consider necessary to localize that.

You have no idea how much I agree with this. That logo is an outdated thing from the "Gotta catch 'em all!" days and has barely any aesthetic place with many of the games they just paste it in. It particularly doesn't fit the look of the Black and White boxes. It's not so much a logo as it is a giant trademark that they should've changed already-- Specially with how recognizable the word "Pokémon" is anyway, they could stylize that in virtually any way and people would still recognize it as pokémon.

It's the Easter weekend now, so I assume we'll hear news about an EU release around mid-next week at the earliest.

This was quite a nice announcement to come home from vacation to. I've been excited about this game from the first announcement, and I was even seriously debating buying the Japanese version if it wasn't going to get localized, so I'm glad it did so I can enjoy it that much more. <3 I'm super excited that it's coming out in the summer too, which means I'll have plenty of time to play.

Re: Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition localization confirmed: 'Pokémon Conquest' set for

"Conquest" was one of the few names I thought they would choose for the localization. It wasn't a surprise that they were localizing it to me.

From Pokemon.com's site...

"Rated E for Everyone

-Mild Cartoon Violence
-Mild Suggestive Themes"

......... Er, what?
I'd imagine that at the least, they could be referring to the character designs for Kunoichi:
Kunoichi.png

And Nene:
Nene.png

>Kunoichi has some cleavage showing in her artwork.
>Is covered in DS.

It's as if they're trolling us.
