Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I am PRAYING for the battle fronteir and street pass secret bases. Make it happen!

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

Yes! My first game was a emulation of Firered and a real copy of X, but i'm really exited! I was rather sad until i found out this news today! :)

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I was expecting something like "EarthRuby" and "SeaSapphire" for names.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

Woah I didn't know the release date was the second of November. I will be there with my 3DS ready to download this at midnight just like last year :3 And then play it all night!

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

Well that news was unexpected.

The new area is already hinted at in X and Y (which by now I don't think needs explaining).

The hotel backpacker - which is who I think you're talking about - isn't from Hoenn though. He even says this if you talk to him enough, and he gives you a statue of a moai Legendary Pokemon that isn't in Gen 6.

I think they mean that the backpacker may be from an area near Hoenn that is not technically part of Hoenn, like the Sevii Islands are to Kanto.

I laughed hysterically when I heard the news. Seems I'll be back for a bit.

Again.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I thought I was going to explode in a mix of excitement and future nostalgia when I saw this. Plus, it's hopefully not far from my birthday.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I have mixed feelings about these games. On one hand, I have fond memories for Ruby and Sapphire, and I played Ruby to death back in 2003. And even last year, I played Sapphire a lot when the games turned 10 years old to relive the moments I had in 2003 (even going so far as to complete the Hoenn Pokédex for the first time ever). But on the other hand... as soon as these games get released, it's almost certain that people are going to clamor for remakes of FireRed and LeafGreen, or more likely, Diamond and Pearl. I don't remember people speculating about R/S remakes before HG/SS came out, but almost the instant it came out, people started to demand a remake for R/S. And it looks like it's happened... Also, every time a remake comes out, it takes time away that could be spent on a new game. Notice that Generations III and IV lasted significantly longer than any other generation (about four years for both of them). Not to mention, Black and White 2 were released very late in the DS's life -- the 3DS had been out for over a year and a half by then, and X/Y ended up being released over 2 and a half years after the 3DS came out. If these remakes didn't exist, they may have been released about two years earlier. Well, I'll still enjoy Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire regardless...

Another problem I see is that it is likely that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are going to take place during the same time period as X and Y, which forces X and Y in the same time period as the Kanto games, since they also take place during the same time as Hoenn. These remakes keep forcing the series backwards chronologically, and it also creates time paradoxes (such as 100 species of Pokémon being "discovered" in G/S/C while they already existed in R/S/E/FR/LG). And speaking of time paradoxes, when you transfer a Pokémon from Generation III to IV (via Pal Park), then from IV to V (via Poké Transfer), and lastly via V to VI (via Poké Transporter) (assuming that Pokémon Bank/Transporter will work with OR/AS, and it is likely that it will)... it gets confusing if OR/AS take place at the same time as X/Y. Basically, the Pokémon will have gone full circle from Hoenn... back to Hoenn! That's quite confusing if you ask me...

At least Mega Groudon and Mega Kyogre look cool, even though they were overpowered to begin with.

MY INTERNAL VOICE IS SCREAMING. THE EXCITEMENT IS PALPABLE. I CAN DIE HAPPY. (Well, not until I've played the games, but you know what I mean.) Gen III was my absolute favorite, I'm so glad the remakes are confirmed!!!

Now watch as all the people declaring we wouldn't get RSemakes or we wouldnt get any games until 2015 scarper off never to be seen or heard from again

Oh you'll still hear from me, particularly how i think these remakes are particularly stupid and unnecessary, and are only being made to please the whiny fanboys who can't let the remake bandwagon die.

I could pretty much say the same thing for HG/SS. We didn't really need them but because GF made FR/LG, a lot of people wanted G/S/C remakes.

In addition, Gen VI marks the end of the DS era. They're probably remaking the games because there isn't a way to play them on modern systems anymore and it will almost definitely make them money.

I have GOT to get this game! I can finally play the Hoenn region now!data:image/jpeg;base64,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

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I was out all day, and found out about this right as I was leaving, so here are my two cents:

-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

-Yes, I went crazy on Twitter and Facebook as soon as I found out. (love how #HoennConfirmed was trending earlier)

-Hoenn certainly deserves remakes. All the mechanic changes since Gen IV necessitate it.

-I didn't expect them to announce ORAS with such little fanfare. X and Y had a big special Nintendo Direct with a history recap, and ORAS just had a rudimentary boxart trailer.

-I also didn't expect them to release the remakes before the XY third/ sequel games. (yeah, FRLG came out before Emerald, but Platinum came before HGSS) Are they planning grander things for the next Kalos games if that's the case?

-Expect these games to have extensive postgames and move tutors, like typical remakes.

I never played RSE myself (unless you count contributing to TPP), I actually left the fandom between Gen III and HGSS. I'm excited to finally travel through Hoenn!

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

It finally happened! You have no idea how happy I am about this you guys! :) this was the best news I've had all day. I was so excited I couldn't stop squealing for a whole 30 minutes. and funny enough I was just thinking about pulling out my gameboy advance playing Pokemon emerald but realizing that I might get attached to the Pokemon that I capture that would not be able to transfer them without a lot of work. So I am very very pleased to see this happen. I can't wait to go back to the HoenE region! Oh, and Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhh!

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire don't have to take place during the same time as X and Y. It is because RS and FRLG are in the same Gen that we assume that they took place during the same time, not the other way around.

Besides, we got sequels in the same generation yet no time travel issues there in Gen 5.

I don't remember what it was exactly off the top of my head, but i'm pretty sure i remember some NPC dialog somewhere in X/Y that implied that they do indeed take place after B/W/B2/W2 chronologically.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire don't have to take place during the same time as X and Y. It is because RS and FRLG are in the same Gen that we assume that they took place during the same time, not the other way around.

No, i'm pretty sure there is plenty of evidence confirming the relationship between all the Gen III and Gen IV games, and that R/S does indeed take place around the same time as FR/LG.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I hope they'll fix the rematching Trainers, because Navigator is awful.

And maybe increase the amount of Pokemon not in Hoenn Pokedex?! (Seriously. Hoenn postgame is... somewhat lacking.)

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced: Will be released November 2

I am not hallucinating, right

This is real

And in 5 months.

I agree, it seems Time Travel is possible in Pokemon after all, I caught my Milotic as a Feebas as soon as possible, think this was after the 5th badge, so after I beat Norman and Flannery, but by transfering forward to Gen 6, that same Milotic now super powered can be with me when I beat Roxanne supposedly for the first time and can fight Team Magma all the way through with it as if I never beat them.

I'm so disappointed they aren't sequels, it just smashes the timeline they worked quite hard to fix.
