"Good. Is that landmine primed?" Nuata asked, pointing to said war hazard. "Nah, I make sure that all explosives are unarmed when on my person." Lex said, getting Nuata to sigh in relief.
Sophie sighed as she laid next to her mother. She never wanted to admit it, but she was a female version of a "momma's boy". And since this version of her mother had never seen her children in years, well, she didn't want her to sleep another night alone.
"Hey they're over here." Gray and Andrew turned around to look at an older Matthew and Roman running in, like Carey and Kyle they looked younger than what they were supposed to be though you could detail them a lot more now, Roman was more muscular compared to his brother and he was wearing an eyepatch over his right eye which covered what you could clearly detail as a scar due to the tail end of it coming out of the patch.
"Matt, Roman!" Mira yelled, hugging her twin brothers tightly by the neck. She saw Roman's eyepatch and decided not to comment on it. She already did with Marianna's missing arm; she did not want to bring back terrible memories of pain and recuperation.
"Oh don't worry I don't really mind I'm actually fond of the story about the eyepatch," Roman laughed. "Matthew's the one that doesn't like it," he grinned as he patted Mira. "That's something that came in handy I can read minds, sort of," he smiled down. "So big sis guess you're not so big anymore."
"Not really." She said in amazement, looking at her now-technically younger brothers. Matt was leaner than Roman, and was about equal with his height. "It's been a while, sis. I was actually starting to hate the position of being part of the oldest sibling set. Mom... let's just say she didn't handle your 'deaths', quote on quote, and she broke down when Dad died." He said, ushering the group to follow.
Lex raised his eyebrow as he came to a baby/toddler room, with 2 pairs of twins. "How is it that woman has the ability to make twins, fraternal and identical?" He muttered. "Got me." Mira said, equally mystified. "To put it bluntly, she had episodes of whoring herself after Dad died out of grief, hoping to find solace in another man again. Aunt Nuata had to beat sense into her after her fifth pregnancy." Matt said, pointing to the newborn fraternal twins Mira II and Shinn II.
"Yeah," Roman said before checking to see if Navati wasn't around. "Mom lost it...harrrrrrrrrrddddddd" he nodded his head while crossing his arms. "We actually had to keep Carr from doing knocking the sense instead of aunt Nauta."
"The two of us actually had a lot of fights but she always went for the eyes!" Carey exclaimed.
'Wait is that how..." Andrew looked at Roman.
"Yeah..." Roman laughed nervously. "Matt doesn't like to talk about it because she was going for him and I jumped in front."
"The woman was savage." Zeke shuddered out, having had a bad mauling from trying to pry Navati off of Carey. Needless to say, she is a dirty fighter when she has her bouts of grief-caused insanity, hence why she would try to go for the eyes. Sure, Zeke and Carey (after stealing the band) could heal from the damages, but it still hurts like an hot iron rod!
"That's why..." Roman looked down at the floor before clenching his fist. "I'm going to get that idiot Shinn back and giving him a pummel for letting himself get captured!" he exclaimed before throwing his fist int he air.
"Damn our family is messed up." DJ muttered to himself.
"Can you blame us?" Kyle asked quietly. "Think of your mother. She lost her kids, she lost her husband..."
"Did Mom?" DJ started to ask.
"No." Kyle answered. "Think of how she pounced on you... And you really are so much like your father." Kyle muttered. "We're going to send you home after our raid. And when you go back in time... You know what has to be done. I'll give you all the names."
"I think you people still don't process what I explained before," Carey scratched the back of her head. "Just make sure to make your own time into a better future than this one okay."
"That's what I'm working on." Kyle replied. "I don't want them ending up living this world out again. And since we know who runs this order, I'll give the names to DJ and he'll make sure things are taken care of."
"While it would create another alternative timeline, it's a thing we must do. After all, they altered the future to their favor. The holy demand things must be set right for their inexcusable action." Zeke spoke, walking to the group. Time was a thing that is very unpredictable: change one thing in the past, and the future is forever changed.
"Though then again a bunch of other futures already exist," Carye scratched her chin. "Navati told me once that when they fought against Knight Academy she was saved by an older Shinn but this Shinn seemed a bit different in perspective to the one we know not just that but Shinn was his nickname not his actual name."
"A little overwhelmed, really." Mira said, rubbing her neck. Who know so much would change? "Well, I'm still quite surprised that humanity found a way to stop demon powers cold. A little unfair, really, but hey, can't really knock it, since we had made power-canceling cuffs in the past." She added.
