With the upcoming SM Anime nearly here and after seeing how discussion has played out for awhile, the staff has decided to incorporate some new guidelines.

1: Please be respectful to each other regardless of your feelings towards the series. This should go without saying, but no one should be attacked for liking/being hopeful for the series and no one should be attacked for not being interested in the series. People can get into a discussion and disagree with each other without throwing insults. See more into the debate announcement to see how to best handle an argument.

2: Do not label SM as "another BW", "BW 2.0" etc. While comparisons to other series are pretty much inevitable, particularly for a long running series like Pokemon, dismissing SM as another BW even before the first episode has aired has caused already caused unnecessary tension. It can come off as flamebait for both fans of BW and those who want to give the series a chance. As stated before, not caring or not being hopeful about SM isn't the problem, but using BW as a buzz word or as a means to brush off the series is a problem. Please do not use comparisons to BW in order to dismiss SM.

3: Please keep details about the games' storyline and characters within spoiler tags. Bringing up information from the games in regards to how events/characters may play out in the anime or to provide comparisons is fine, but just remember when to put that information in spoiler tags. Not everyone is going to get the games at launch and people also play at their own pace, so we don't want to avoid spoilers as much as possible when discussing the anime as well.

4: All of the other Anime section rules/guidelines, such as the use of the term filler and insults/threats towards the creative staff of the show, apply here as well.

Please keep these guidelines in mind when discussing the new series. Thank you.
