Recently, the world stopped when they learned incredible news: Ash Ketchum , the protagonist of the Pokémon anime , had won his first Pokémon League in the Alola region after more than 20 years , 1082 episodes , 22 seasons and 6 leagues failed.
This event has been waiting since Satoshi , as he is known in Japan , lost his first league in the distant 1999. Although fans knew that eventually, because he was the protagonist of the series, he would win a Pokémon league , nobody expected what would happen so long until finally his victory was given.
Next to this, there is the fact that when Ash won the Alola League , his followers automatically celebrated the victory, but a fear also took hold of everyone since Satoshi had finally fulfilled his mission and it was likely that the anime lost its main character .
However, this fact is not the end for Ash Ketchum . Decades ago the anime began with this character with a premise: to be the best as nobody ever has been. Does Ash's victory place him as the main "Pokémon Master" in the world? No, and this is clear from the voice that plays the character on the small screen.
Rika Matsumoto , Ash's seiyū in Japan , gave an interview to Oricon where she commented a little about what this victory meant for the character, giving a break to the group of fans who were scared of the young coach's future:

"Although Satoshi has won his first league, the road to being a Pokémon Master is not over yet." What did she mean by this? First of all, he literally still has his way to Ash to continue telling more stories of his journey to become a true Pokémon master .
Secondly, this also gives fans a new hope to see him as the protagonist of the next anime, one that will reveal more information very soon. If Ash had definitively retired from the competitions, Matsumoto would have had no reason to point out this fact.
Fans do not know what it takes to consider someone a "true Pokémon Master," but it may have to do with winning all the leagues in the previous regions in which Satoshi participated, something according to the new anime. which will be released in 2020 .

" Pokémon " will be the official name of the new series for Japanese television, so many have theorized that it will be a restart of the franchise to add all the Pokémon of all generations or do so by continuing the current timeline with Ash as champion of the Alola League.
Some videos of the new anime have shown not only that Pokémon from different generations will appear, but also from several regions such as Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and many others. All of them have been mentioned in previous press conferences of The Pokemon Company .
Everything will be revealed on September 29 where the same company has scheduled an official broadcast on this new anime. What many believe is also that it will not be related to the new "Pokémon: Sword and Shield" , the next video game in the franchise.
