Pokémon TCG Crossover Event to be held in Pokémon GO from June 16-30

The Pokémon TCG: Pokémon GO special expansion will be released on June 17th in Japan, with a global release to follow on July 1st. In anticipation of this release, Niantic has announced a Pokémon TCG Crossover Event for Pokémon GO. This event will run from June 16th at 10:00am to June 30th at 8:00pm local time. Pikachu wearing a Pokémon TCG hat, Wimpod and Golisopod will be debuting in this event.

400 Wimpod Candy will be required to evolve Wimpod into Golisopod.

Collection Challenges
Collection Challenges themed around Pokémon that will be featured in the Pokémon GO TCG expansion will be available. Six Collection Challenges of varying difficulty will be available beginning on June 16th at 10:00am local time and will run until June 30th at 8:00pm local time. Trainers who complete all of these challenges will receive XP, a Lure Module, an Incubator, and encounters with Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Meltan.

An additional three Collection Challenges will be available from June 23rd at 10:00am local time until June 30th at 8:00pm local time. Trainers who complete all of these challenges will earn additional encounters with Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.

Mystery Box and Meltan
Shiny Meltan will have an increased chance of appearing when Mystery Box are opened. The buffer time in which Mystery Box can be opened will also be reduced during the event period. The Mystery Box can be obtained when Trainers send Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME.
