Pokemon that are more or less popular in different sections of the world

I remember seeing a thread like this somewhere, but I don't remember where it was or when it was, so I apologize if it was a recent thread on here. I don't think it was though.

Anyway, what pokemon are more popular (or not as popular) in different sections of the world? I think it could be pretty interesting to know some examples of this. I know one example is that Dedenne is very popular in japan compared to most of the world. Do you guys know any other examples?

Stunfisk is really popular in Japan to the point whole merchandise lines have been made dedicated to it. ...Whereas pretty much everyone abroad online and IRL hated Stunfisk when it got released.

Here in Latin America I can't think of many Pokemon which are more popular here than in the rest of the world. You still see Charizard, Greninja and Lucario everywhere. Hawlucha was well-liked during the XY era, specially because of the anime and was hailed as great Mexican representation, but not to the point of becoming iconic and more popular than the aforementioned mons. Ludicolo isn't discussed much. I've seen many Snivy fans.

In Japan I know they have a fondness of cute and dopey Pokemon more than the rest of the world. Examples (that I've seen in merchandise, official youtube shorts and social media) include Pichu, Alolan Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Digglet, Psyduck, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Koffing, Alolan Exeguttor, Staryu, Mr. Mime, Magikarp, Wooper, Wobbuffet, Marshtomp (good tastes indeed), Stunfisk, Wailord, Piplup, Bidoof, all pikaclones (specially Dedenne), Drifloon, Rotom, Oshawott, Scraggy, Minccino, Victini, Bunnelby, Rowlet, Pyukumuku, Greedent (ugh), Cramorant & Alcremie.
