Pokemon that are popular in a certain country, but very unpopular in other countries?

I just noticed that lots of Americans hate Stunfisk, and that Stunfisk is quite hated in USA?
But Stunfisk is very popular in Japan!

So I want to make a thread.
Is there a Pokemon that you love, but is hated in your country? Maybe I can tell you that it's popular on the other side of the globe?

I also noticed some other examples:
Chikorita is popular in Japan and China, but unpopular in USA.
Nidoking and Nidoqueen are really popular in USA, but hardly has any fans in Japan. However, Chinese people love Nidoking too.
Most Asian people find Smoochum cute, but somehow, Americans find Smoochum unsettling. (Which I wonder why?)
Jynx also has quite some popularity in Japan, but obviously is very hated in USA (this, I know why) Chinese people find Jynx ugly, but in a funny way.

I feel like Mega Charizard X was specifically designed to appeal to edgy kids in the West complaining about regular Zard not being Dragon-type (when that would've been fuckin' broken in gen 1).
