Name: Brandon Hughes

Appearance: The unusual feature of Brandon's attire is the lack of a backpack - rather than keeping all his supplies in a pack, he puts them inside an acoustic guitar which he carries around with him on his back. The guitar itself also has a clarinet tied around it with a bulky leather belt. Apart from that, his clothes are fairly standard - he wears a plain white button shirt with short sleeves with a black tie, along with black jeans with another bulky belt and well-shined shoes. A flute is threaded through the back loops of his jeans, he keeps his baton in his front pocket, and he has a pair of castanets hanging from his jeans, along with a chain ending with a platinum made musical note.

Brandon is rather plain looking. He has long black hair with a sweeping fringe that covers his eyes, which are quite a nice shiny blue. Aside from that, however, he is of very average build, very average height, and has no real distinctive features about him at all, aside from his eyes.

Personality: Brandon is a somewhat shy person - he's very quiet and becomes easily flustered in conversations. He has a severe lack of confidence, particularly in battle, and this causes him to lack strategic planning. Regardless of this social shortcoming, he manages to come across as understanding and kind, and becomes gradually more comfortable and warm to people as he hangs around them more often, and is willing to be a good friend to them - he even becomes willing to crack a joke or two.

If Brandon encounters anything to do with music, his gushes his emotions and becomes almost euphoric, and it's difficult to find him in a happier state than when he is performing. Brandon also, unusually enough, trains his Pokémon to respond to music and actions in battle - he either uses music or a conductor's baton to control them, which can come across as a good tactic as he doesn't have to verbally express the order. It never works, though, due to his bad strategic planning.

History: Brandon had a relatively normal, yet sheltered upbringing. He discovered in interest in music when he was very young, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his new-found passion, and has since learned a plethora of different instruments. Because he spent so much time performing and practicing, however, he ended up neglecting to socialise, thus finding social situations difficult. He decided to take up training so that other people would think he was cool, but decided to choose to catch a Pokémon who he had noticed was as musically inclined as he was - a weak Kricketot. In order to make his Pokémon stronger, and hopefully increase his confidence as a result, he set out on a journey to take the Gym challenge.

Appearance: Tierra is generally quite an unfashionable person. She wears a rather nice cowgirl suit, with black chaps, a brown duster with a sheriff's badge, and a black cowboy hat with a white band around it - though, the illusion of stereotypical, cowpoke toughness is ruined by the fact that she wears a large amount of jewellery. She has bracelets and bangles dangling from each arm, silver and bronze necklaces, diamond studded earrings, and even the spurs of her boots have amethysts embedded in them.

She has tanned skin from working out in the sun for large amounts of time, and she usually wears her dusty-blonde, waist-length hair in a ponytail which she usually covers with her hat, unleashing it upon taking the hat off. She is of an average height, at about 5'9", and she has a somewhat athletic build, gained from her line of work.

Personality: Tierra Belmonte is notorious around Tanzanyx City for being influenced easily, by two things - money and jewels. Because she is so easily manipulated, she can be quite naive, supported by her ridiculous dress sense. Even though she will work hard to acquire these two things, she is exceedingly lazy during her down time - during her Gym Challenges, she usually won't even stand up during battle.

However, despite these less than redeeming qualities, she is a genuinely nice person, greeting all of the residents of her town with a smile when she sees them, and is welcoming to visitors. When she's on duty, she becomes a drastically different person to her off-duty self; the sense of authority gives her a helpful and adventurous attitude, while her off-duty self is basically the most boring person you could ever meet.

History: Tierra was born in Tanzanyx City, to the owner of the mines around the area. Naturally, Tierra was spoilt by her rich father, which possibly contributed to her laziness in later life, though she held no interest in continuing the family business - she was instead interested in training Pokèmon, as she thought that her life would hold more wonder and adventure that way.

One day, when she was turning twelve, Tierra encountered a Hippopotas when visiting her father's mine, who had been injured by another Pokemon. Tierra requested that the Pokemon be treated, and her father saw that is was healed. Seeing a lot of herself in the Pokemon's lazy and sleepy demeanour, she chose to train it, and that started her journey to becoming a trainer. The rest of her team she caught in the next six years down in the same mines.

Shortly after her eighteenth birthday, Tanzanyx came under assault by a herd of rampaging mountain Pokemon, and most of the town's trainers were down in the mines because of an important, historical discovery. Tierra, seeing that she was the only one capable of saving the town, chose to accept the call of adventure and fought off the Pokemon and won. As a result of her bravery, Tierra was offered the position of City Sheriff, which she graciously accepted - now, her life would be full of adventure. As Tierra continued to protect the law of the city using her skill as a trainer, she eventually recieved the title of Gym Leader.

Appearance: Kyle has long blond color hair that falls down to his neck line the hair being lush and wavy, though he usually covers the top of his head with a hat. He had a muscular built along with multiple scars; though these are hidden by the red colored shirt that he normally wears along with a pair of hiking jeans.

However the thing more crucial to Kyle's appearance is the wheelchair he's bound to as he has been paralyzed form the waist down.

Personality: Kyle's really laid back and lazy, almost never doing anything that isn't of his interest. However, he's very insightful and cares a lot about the things that he pays attention to as well as the people that he considers he can trust. He's really goofy though and likes to play jokes on people; even on a wheelchair he's still known as the town's goofball.

History: Growing up in Airin City, Kyle grew obsessed with flying types ever since he was little, usually spending exorbitant amounts of time in spending his time with the flying types around the forest. He always dreamed of being at the top and as thus took his own journey to defeat the league. After 3 years Kyle was able to gather all the badges at the age of 18. However, before he was able to enter and challenge the Elite 4 he was faced by a mysterious trainer, who after a hardous battle attacked Kyle ruthlessly; leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

After losing his legs Kyle returned to Airin City and proceeded to open his own Gym, while he's still sad about not being able to complete his dream he has decided that he will make his Gym the best in the region.

Appearance: Katie is a stunningly beautiful woman, she has long straight hair which goes over her ears. She has bright blue eyes which stand out in crowds. Katie normally wears a navy dress (similar to the ghost gym leaders in Gen IV) with dark high heels.

History: Katie grew up as an orphan, her parents died in a horrific accident when they fell of their flying pokemon. She was then left one pokemon, a Deino, and spent most of her life with him. Soon enough, the local gym leader become old and decided to retire. Katie, with an extremely strong dragon team, entered the tournament to become gym leader, and won. Ever since she has owned the Dragon gym in the pokemon league. Katie is one of the toughest gym leaders, and is a hard nut to crack.

Considering how utterly fail that system was... I guess it's time for a change.

told you it'd be over doing it a bit. also hone claws increases accuracy in addition to attack.

anyway what shall we do for the new system? I'm all good with keeping the accuracy rules, and then just doing it old school, and having players calculate based on their knowledge of pokemon.

harden= less atk dmg
howl= more atk dmg
high def stat= less atk dmg
low speed stat= less chance of dodge.

then you add that up with type match up and finally you add in abilities and other special traits. most common attacks have a 1/10 chance of bonus effects, so either roll a ten sided die, and 1=status effect, or just be serious about getting effects.

well thats what this is, but those are the things you take into account with how hurt your pokemon is, but also in the anime moves like harden and iron defense are often used like protect, and are an instant defense increase right before a hit.

Appearance: Valarian is about 5 feet 10 inches tall. She has long brown flowing hair, green eyes that shimmer in the afternoon light, and a perfect white smile that makes pearls jealous. She is always seen in her prime ministers outfit which is a purple, long sleeved top with gold trim. The Shirt is halved in the middle with the top left of this half a triangle that attaches towards the shoulder. She has matching purple pants and is either in black heels or flats.
Personality: Valarian is a very strict person at most times, running a region will do this to a person. Though she can be lighthearted and playful if put in the right mood. She will always have a light sense of humor, wether it be in your favor or not. Valarian also never turns down a challenge, no matter how big or impossible.

History: Valarian grew up in the Hoenn region. Her father was a rich politician who lived in Lilycove city; she was inspired by the changes he made and the people he helped so she decided to grow up and make a difference. She went to school in every single region, studying law and politics with battling on the side. She then moved to the region that she is prime minister of, and decided that she was going to lead this country one day. She quickly worked her way up the ladder and one day got to the top when she was elected Prime Minister.

Personality: Devon is a very outgoing person with a ambitious personality. He like a good challenge and will consider anyone with a pokeball his rival. Devon has a flaring temper and gets very attached to things.

History: Originally from Hidenoa Town, Devon always wanted to be a trainer. He always liked to play with wild pokemon and they never attacked him. One time, Devon's house was robbed and his father's pokemon were taken. However, an hour after the robbery Devon came back with a group of wild pokemon, the things that were stolen, and the culprit. The wild bug pokemon stopped him when they say Devon's backpack in the robbers hands. Needless to say, Devon and pokemon have a special connection.
