So I'm writing a fanfiction on a fake game for Generation VIII. And for each generation, there's an anime saga. Anyway, this takes place after the end of the Sun and Moon series. That series is still ongoing, so this fanfiction may diverge from the main anime after the current episodes.
Episode 1: The Illis Journey Begins!
Narrator: After Ash's adventures in Alola, he travels by plane to the Illis region to see even more Pokémon.
PA: Attention all passengers, We'll be landing in Chikaflic City in an hour. Please keep your seatbelts fastened until we arrive.
Ash: You hear that, Pikachu? We're almost there.
Pikachu: Pika!
Team Rocket was disguised in trench coats in a nearby seat.
James: So, the Illis region? I've heard that there's lot's of rare Pokémon there.
Jessie: Even cute ones like Ketty.
Meowth: Anywhere Pikachu goes, we go!
[Theme Song: Positives and Negatives]
I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was.
To catch a thousand is my real test.
There are the pros and cons.
The land of Illis is my ultimate test
Just let my love last
Pokémon!
We all got to stay positive.
Gotta stop being negative.

Ash (voiceover): The Illis Journey Begins!
[Episode continues with the plane landing at O'Heracross Airport. Ash runs down the steps]
Ash: Alola, Chikaflik City!
Pikachu: Pi Pikachu!
[Ash walks by people]
Ash: Alola!
Woman: Who's Lola?
Ash: Alola!
Man: What?
Ash: Alola! Alola! Alola!
[Big sweat drops appear on people's heads]
Professor Pines: Ash Ketchum?
Ash: Oh, Alola.
Professor Pines: You're not in Alola anymore so you can just stop that.
Ash: Oh, right. Um, hello?
Professor Pines: I am Professor Albert Pines.
Ash: Professor Pines? You're the guy Professor Oak wanted me to meet!
Pines: Yes, he told me all about you. Come, we'll discuss more at my lab.
[Pines drove Ash and Pikachu in his car to Evan Town. As he looked out the window, he saw a lot of new Pokémon such as Ketty, Birda, Bugker, Rattar and Squirret]
Ash: Wow, there really are a lot of new Pokémon here.
[The car pulled up in front of the lab. A girl riding a bike was distracted by Ash's face, which was framed in a background of hearts.]
Sam: Whoa!
Ash: Ow!
Pikachu (using Thunderbolt): PIKACHUUU!
Sam and Ash (screaming):Aaaaagggghhhh!
[They fall down. Sam recovered quickly and looked at her bike]
Sam: My bike! It's deep-fried!
Pines: I spent a million Poké Dollars on that bike for her birthday! How could you destroy it?
Ash: I'm so sorry. Pikachu has a habit of destroying bikes in a new region. Though it got better about it after Sinnoh and probably wouldn't have done that if she didn't run me over!
Sam: I'm sorry. I just got distracted... Wow, you're hot!
Ash: Well, I spent a whole school year in Alola.
Sam: Alola?
Ash: So they do use that greeting here!
[Pines falls down in embarrassment]
Pines (popping back on camera): Ash, Samantha, come inside.
[Meanwhile, Team Rocket spied from behind the bushes]
James: Looks like the Twerp had found his Twerpette.
Jessie: I swear, if my bike gets destroyed and have to be stuck with him, ugh! That's not the life I want.
Meowth: We'll get that bike-destroying Pikachu and present it to the boss.
[James' Poké Phone rang. He pushed the button and Giovanni appeared on the screen.]
Giovanni: Has your plane made it to Illis?
James: Yes, sir. We are in Evan Town right now outside the Pines Pokémon Lab.
Giovanni: Good. You really have established the Team Rocket name in Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Alola. You just need to conquer Illis and a few more regions.
Meowth: Aye, Aye, sir!
[Cut to Pines' Lab]
Sam: So what's this about, Grandpa?
Pines: There are three Pokémon. The Grass-type Leafer, the Fire-type Heatty, and the Water-type Fishkin.
Leafer: Leafer!
Heatty: Heat! Heat!
Fishkin: Fish!
[A boy walked in]
Pines: Ah, Matt. You're just in time.
Matt: I just saw a deep-fried bike outside.
[Everyone looks at Pikachu]
Pikachu (nervously): Pika...
Pines: Anyway, Sam, what are you going to pick?
Sam: I choose... Leafer!
Leafer: Leaf!
[Leafer jumped off the table and snuggled up on Sam's leg]
Sam: Aw, it's so cute. Aagh!
[Pines recalled Leafer in its Poké Ball and handed it to Sam]
Sam: Grandpa, what did you just do?
Pines: I just put it back in its Poké Ball. Its fine.
[Pines threw the Poké Ball on the ground and Leafer popped out]
Leafer: Leafer!
Sam: Are your okay?
Leafer (happily): Leafer! Leafer!
[Sam picked up the Poké Ball and Leafer went in it]
Sam: Huh?
Pines: So what will you pick, Matt?
Matt: I choose Fishkin.
[Pines recalled Fishkin in its Poké Ball and gave it to Matt]
Pines: Alright, Ash. I guess you get Heatty?
Sam: But doesn't he already have Pikachu?
Pines: It's only fair that all three kids would get a Pokémon. And besides, trainers can have up to six at a time.
Ash: Okay, I'll have Heatty.
Heatty: Heatty!
Ash: You remind me of Litten.
[Pines recalled Heatty and gave it to Ash]
Here, you each get a Pokédex.
[Pines give them each a Pokédex]
Ash's Dex: Heatty, the Fire Cat Pokémon. Heatty's internal body temperature is hotter than a supernova, but it's fur is safe to touch.
Sam's Dex: Leafer, the Leaf Pokémon. Leafer's leaf-like body is flexible to roll up.
Matt's Dex: Fishkin, the Fish Pokémon. Fishkin can swim faster than a torpedo, though it can barely move on land.
Matt: Barely move on land? Oh great.
[The three kids walked out of the lab.]
Ash: Alright, let's have a battle.
Matt: Fine. Go Fishkin!
Ash: I choose you, Heatty!
Sam: Wow, they're sending their Pokémon out. Leafer, I think you should have some fresh air.
Leafer: Leafer!
[Leafer falls asleep on Sam's lap]
Pines: I'll explain the rules. Whoever knocks out the other Pokémon wins. Ash vs. Matt, begin!
[Suddenly four mechanical arms from a Meowth-shaped balloon picked up Pikachu, Heatty, Fishkin, and Leafer]
Sam: Leafer, no!
Ash: What the?
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation.
James: To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James: To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie: Jessie!
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now or prepare to fight.
Meowth: That's right!
Wobbuffet: Wobbuffet!
Ash: Team Rocket!
Matt: Team who?
Ash: They're bad guys who steal other people's Pokémon.
Pines: I've heard about them. Aren't they a Kanto organization? What are they doing in Illis?
Ash: They want my Pikachu so badly that they'd follow me to every region. Pikachu, Thunderbolt!
Pikachu (using Thunderbolt): Pikachuuu!
[The metal arms conducted the electricity like a lightning rod and electrocuted the starters.]
Team Rocket (giggles): Ha ha ha ha!
Meowth: Don't you think we'd have it Pika-proof?
Ash: Pikachu, Iron Tail!
[Pikachu's tail glowed and it sliced the arm holding it. It jumped and did Iron Tail to free the starters. It then jumped in Team Rocket's balloon basket with an evil stare]
Ash: Pikachu, Thunderbolt.
Pikachu (using Thunderbolt): PIKACHUUUU!
[Team Rocket gets electrocuted and the balloon explodes, sending them flying]
Jessie: Oh well, you win some and lose some.
James: Except that we...
Meowth: Lose more!
Team Rocket: We're blasting off aga--
[Suddenly they were caught by a flying Bewear]
James: Oh come on!
Jessie: Since when can you use Fly?
Meowth: You'd better not be taking us all the way back to your cave in Alola after we've come this far!
Team Rocket: Off with a new blast!
[Bewear flew off into the sky with a twinkle]
Sam's Dex: Bewear, the Strong Arm Pokémon. While it may look friendly, it can be dangerous. Bewear cannot fly like what you saw.
Sam: What?
Pines: A flying Bewear?
Ash: I've seen it run on water too.
Sam: Well at least you're safe Leafer.
Leafer: Leafer!
Matt: Well, I'm off to challenge the gyms to collect badges. See ya!
[Matt runs off into Route 1]
Sam: Gyms? Badges? What's he talking about, Grandpa?
Pines: The Pokémon League Springfield Conference is held annually in Illis. This year, it's eight months from now. It's a Pokémon tournament where trainers compete in before challenging the Elite Four. You need eight badges to compete, and you challenge Gym Leaders to Pokémon battles with a badge as the prize.
Sam: Wow, I might want to try that out.
Ash: Alright! New badges, new Pokémon League? Alola didn't have them, so I'm so hyped for this! I can finally break my losing streak.
Sam: Losing streak?
Ash: Well, I was always so close. I lost my last League Conference in Kalos was at the final round. But I know, this time I can win.
Sam: Wow. Maybe you can teach me all you know?
Ash: Sure.
Pines: The first Gym is in Chikaflic City. At the rate Matt was running, he could be there at any second.
Ash: That's the place you met me at!
Sam: You've been there? Lead the way, Master Ash.
Ash: Okay.
[They raced to Route 1 and the scene paused]
Narrator: Ash is set out to compete in the Illis League, with a new apprentice Sam travelling with him. What adventures await in the world of Illis?
