Next week on January 23rd, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live will be receiving an update to Version 1.10.0 ahead of the release of Scarlet & Violet - Paldean Fates on January 25th. This update will resolve a large quantity of issues impacting on both gameplay, and general app stability both in and out of matches. This update will be preceded by an 8 hour long maintenance window, which according to the in-game notification is scheduled to start at 8:00am (PST) / 4:00pm (UTC) on January 23rd. The announcement notice on the official Pokémon Community Forums erroniously states that the maintenance period will begin starting at "8 AM PDT(15:00 PM UTC)", despite that Pacific Daylight Time is not currently in use.

Most notably, the Version 1.10.0 update makes fixes for issues in the application of Toedscruel's Slime Mold Colony Ability, which have continued to plague players despite having meant to be fixed back in the Version 1.9.2 update in December. It's unclear if players impacted by the issues with the Miraidon ex League Battle Deck shop item, which contained four copies of Energy Switch (SVI #173) instead of the intented four copies of Boss's Orders (PAL #172), will be receiving the corrrect cards in compensation for the previous error.

Despite making bug-fixes to Scoop Up Net, and other cards only relevant to Expanded Format play, the patch notes do not explicitly mention any changes to the Expanded Format, to bring TCG Live in sync with the recent update to the Expanded Format banned list. Despite this however, it is presumed that Scoop Up Net will be banned for Expanded format play.

Following the update, Scarlet & Violet - Paldean Fates will become available in-game from Thursday January 25th. The exact time for when this update will happen is ambiguous given the timezone errors in the official announcement post on the official Pokémon Community Forums, but it is most likely that these will drop at 9:00am (PST) / 5:00pm (UTC). Players logging in from this date will be able to start obtaining and using cards from this new expansion, and will have access to a new Scarlet & Violet - Paldean Fates Battle Pass. All players who log-in to the game over the period of this Battle Pass will receive a free Lugia VStar deck, together with a selection of Scarlet & Violet - Paldean Fates booster packs, and tokens that can be used to purchase individual cards in game. By purchasing the Premium Pass, players can also unlock a Gardevoir ex deck, together with additional tokens, in-game card sleeves, and coins that can be used to purchase other cosmetic items for player's decks and avatar.

Progressing through the various tiers of the free Battle Pass will unlock a variety of booster packs and cards for players decks, including multiple copies of Lugia V and Lugia VSTAR, and Galarian Gallery copies of Lumineon V from Crown Zenith. Players who purchase the Premium Pass can also unlock, amongst other rewards, an additional copy of Gardevoir ex, and Illustration Rare and Hyper copies of several common Trainer cards such as Iono, Boss's Orders, Artazon, and Super Rod. Players who reach Level 50 of the Premium Pass will receive a special illustration rare copy of Gardevoir ex from Paldean Fates.

The full Patch Notes for 1.10.0, as posted by the developers on the official Pokémon Community Forums, can be found below. Links to information on the cards directly mentioned in the notes have been added for your convenience.
