The Pokémon Universe is full of mysteries. Pokémon capable of many unique qualities inhabit the entire universe. In the Pokémon World, Pokémon and people live together in harmony. Side by side, they coexist.

Some people, however, choose to use Pokémon for selfish reasons. Using Pokémon as tools or slaves, evil syndicates use Pokémon to commit crimes and sometimes a greater goal. Many people are working together to put these teams to an end. However, there will always be evil out there to counteract all of the good in the world.

It has been a two years since a dastardly team has been discovered. Team Universe holds plans to destroy the universe and create their own in its place, with them as its rulers. Few know about the group, however, although some who have encountered them have tried to put an end to their plans. Team Universe, however is still at large, causing trouble for humans and Pokémon everywhere.

Their biggest known crimes are the capture of many elusive legendary Pokémon. It is unknown how these captures, along with the collection of information on Pokémon evolution, will help Team Universe's goal. All that is known is that this team must be stopped at all costs.

In this RPG, you will take the role of a Pokémon Trainer, traveling to Hoenn take part in his/her Pokémon Journey. In this RPG, you may choose to become a Pokémon Trainer or Coordinator. We will meet an evil team on our journey and they will threaten the Pokémon Universe as we know it and it is up to the Players to stop them.

Here is the application for the RPG. This RPG is a sequel to Pokémon Universe: Kanto and Pokémon Universe: Johto, so there may be some areas where only Veteran Players need to answer:

----------------------------------------

Username: Place your username for BMGf!

Character:

Name: Character's name
Nickname (optional): Character's nickname (if it has one)
Age: Character's age. Ages of Veteran players should be a year older than in the Johto RPG.
Gender: Character's gender.
Birthdate (optional): When is your character's birthday?
Training Career: League or Contests?
Birthplace: What Region and Town is your character from?

Starter Pokémon: What Pokémon did your character start off with? This doesn't have to be a traditional starter from the trios given away by regional Professors. If you planning on receiving a starter from Professor Birch at the beginning of this journey, specify whether you will receive Torchic, Treeko, or Mudkip. Also, add if they have a gender and what their nickname is (if it has one).

Appearance: Your character's appearance. Please provide at least one paragraph. For Veteran players, show how your character has changed over the course of a year. I'm not expecting to see your character have no physical development.

Personality: How does your character act and interact with other people? What sets off those personalities? Minimum of one paragraph. Again, Veteran Players should show how their character's attitude has changed. Unless it hasn't in which case, ignore that.

Personal History: I want to know about your character! What was he/she like when they were growing up and before they became a Trainer? How did you receive your starter Pokémon (if you already have one). Minimum of two paragraphs. Veteran Players should add history about their journeys in Kanto and Johto to show how your character has grown. Lucky for you, the minimum is still two paragraphs even with that added bit.

Pokémon: What Pokémon are you bringing over with you from your previous journeys? (only for Veteran Players). This form must be completed for each of the player's Pokémon.

Current Pokémon on Team: What Pokémon are you bringing with you?

Moves: What can your Pokémon do?
Personality: Pokémon have feelings, too. Show them.
History: What's the history behind your Pokémon?

Pokémon That Can be Called Upon: What Pokémon do you have that aren't on hand right now?

Character:

Name: Brad Jones
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Birthdate: December 15
Training Career: Coordinator
Birthplace: Floaroma Town, Sinnoh

Starter Pokémon: Beautifly, Male

Appearance: With 5 feet and 8 inches in height, Brad has grown a bit since he has traveled Johto. While still largely the same blue-eyed, black-haired boy, he has changed in terms of physique; his body is now more toned as he is not as skinny as he once was.

Personality: Brad tries to get to know people before making judgments about them. Always giving people the benefit of the doubt, he remains to be a kind and caring person throughout his journey. He chooses to bring people together using his caring traits and hopes to get people to work as a team and community. He can be protective about his friends and Pokémon, sometimes even people that he has never met.

His ex-girlfriend, Luna, had changed him significantly during their time together. He remained to be a kind and caring individual but turned to her whenever he himself needed guidance. He was very protective of Luna and returned the love that she showed for him. He was willing to do almost anything for the girl that he loved. Unfortunately for their relationship, Luna and Brad are no longer together.

Brad now finds new love for his best friend, Matt, who he now turns to during times of need. While not totally clear on his feelings for his best friend, Matt’s Partner Pokémon, Kamex the Wartortle, acts as a very close friend to guide him with his romantic feelings for Matt and in any other obstacles that appear in his life.

Personal History: Being the brother of the Eterna Gym Leader, Gardenia, Brad has always worked to be the best he can at his endeavors, just like his sister. Although their family lives in Floaroma Town, Gardenia rose up the ranks and eventually became Gym Leader of the Eterna Gym. Living in the shadow of his sister, Brad also aspired to be a great Trainer.
Although his family enjoyed battling, Brad always had a passion for being a Contest Coordinator. He would always watch Contests on television and envy the Trainers that were able to perform with their Pokémon. He finally was able to begin his dream when he received his first Pokémon for his 14th birthday, a Beautifly. Brad would train with this Pokémon for hours at a time in their hometown until his parents finally allowed him to start his own Pokémon journey.

In order to become a better coordinator, Brad had decided to start his journey in a different region. He hopes to end his Pokémon journey in Sinnoh, to show his family and friends how much he has grown as a Coordinator and person.

Throughout his journeys in Kanto and Johto, Brad met a group of friends and Pokémon that he loves dearly. Jake, Drew, Enzap, Yukiko, Kyle, and Luna are his friends. They met at the beginning of their journey, meeting Yukiko in Johto, and have remained friends ever since.

Brad met his best friend, Matt, on the boat ride to arrive at Johto. The two automatically became friends and grew closer and closer as their journey continued. Eventually, an on-and-off romantic relationship blossomed between the two best friends. While this relationship came with its own set of obstacles, their growing feelings for each other climaxed at the Pokémon League, leaving two in an awkward point in their friendship. At this point, Brad is unsure how his friendship with Matt will continue, causing him to question whether he will be able to travel with Matt in the future.

While their group was traveling through Mt. Silver, Team Universe appeared in hopes of capturing a powerful Pokémon who is known for living in the Mountain. After an intense struggle with the dastardly syndicate, Pokémon were stolen and Team Universe escaped in victory.

Despite all of this, Brad still hopes to travel all of his friends through Hoenn, their next destination.

Name: Vespiquen
Species: Vespiquen
Gender:
Moves: Defense Order, Attack Order, Bug Bite, Gust, Power Gem, Sweet Scent

History: Brad was first introduced to his new addition as a Combee during the Bug-Catching Contest in the National Park. Combee was at first very weak, not being able to hold her own in battle. After a while, however, Combee had improved her skill and gained enough experience to evolve into a powerful Vespiquen. Now, Vespiquen is truly a powerhouse in Brad’s team when it comes to battling with grace.

Spr_5b_149.png

Name: Dragonite
Species: Dragonite
Gender:
Moves: Aqua Tail, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Dragonbreath, Draco Meteor, Outrage

He tries to make friends with all types of Pokémon, though his enthusiasm may sometimes be taken the wrong way.
History: Dragonite was given to Brad as a gift from his ex-girlfriend, Luna. He was a prize at the Game Corner and was anxious to finally be bought. Dratini eventually evolved into a beautiful Dragonair during Brad's appeal in the Kanto Grand Festival and has shown great improvement since then. Eventually, Dragonite’s final evolution was accidentally brought upon by the Draco Meteor Tutors at Blackthorn City. Dragonite still remains to be a strong addition to Brad’s team.

Name: Budew
Species: Budew
Gender:
Moves: Absorb, Pin Missile, Sunny Day, Solarbeam

History: Brad first met Budew in the Johto Safari Zone. She and a Surskit where huddled together in fear as menacing Pokémon crowded their area. Brad caught both Pokémon in order to take them somewhere safe. After finding the ideal habitat for both Pokémon, Surskit was happy to leave, but Budew still wanted to stay with Brad. The Coordinator accepted Budew’s request and kept her as his newest teammate. Budew remains to be a Pokémon that Brad chooses to use in Contest Appeals.

Name: Clefable

She is a very cute Pokémon who acts cute in her behaviors, sometimes causing trouble without knowing because of her obliviousness to responsibility. Clefable tries to create a friendship with Mr. Gibles but unknowingly sparks romantic feelings which she did not return at first.
History: Clefable met Brad in Mt. Moon, using Metronome to attack Beautifly. After dealing with the Clefairy, she showed them the way out and made a bond with Brad, deciding to join the group. She immediately took a liking to Enzap and enjoys spending time with everybody from Brad's group of friends. She isn't used much in battles but is relied on for appeals and her Metronome plays a big part in Brad's combinations, in an attempt to prove her diversity.

Species: Venomoth
Gender:

History: Brad first met Venomoth in the Safari Zone in Fuchsia City. He wasn't interested in catching any Pokémon but after watching the Venomoth gracefully fly by, Brad was hooked. Venomoth remains a powerful addition to his group.

Gender:
Moves: Gust, Silver Wind, Mega Drain, Bug Buzz, String Shot, Morning Sun, Quiver Dance

History: Beautifly met Brad on his 14th birthday as a present. Brad's parents knew that he had a love for Bug-Typed Pokémon and Beautifly was the perfect present. The two built a close bond trained together for many years as a Coordinating team. Being on Brad’s team during the events of Mt. Silver, Beautifly is now in the hands of Team Universe. Brad is now on a mission to reunite with his starter Pokémon and take revenge on the evil team.

Spr_5b_012_f.png

Name: Butterfree
Species: Butterfree
Gender:
Moves: Poison Powder, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Gust, Silver Wind, String Shot
Location: Team Universe
Personality: Butterfree, like most of Brad's Pokémon, is a very happy individual. She shows interest in making others happy, sometimes willing to put others' happiness before her own. Although she is barely seen out of her ball besides in battles and Contests, Butterfree has grown to show feelings for Jake, Brad's friend. Although she acts simply friendly towards Jake over time, her feelings for Jake began to wither away and were reborn in the form of feelings for his partner, Tsunami.
History: Butterfree met Brad as a Caterpie in Viridian Forest. She was found while Brad was looking for Bug-Type Pokémon and returned to Brad and Jake after leaving them at first. She was properly caught and traveled with the group, eventually evolving into a beautiful Butterfree. Her battle skills have been shown mostly in the form of beautiful appeals using her variety of moves. Being part of Brad’s team during the events at Mt. Silver, Butterfree remains in the clutches of Team Universe, although Brad seeks to find his stolen Pokémon and take revenge on Team Universe by foiling their plots.

Spr_5b_234.png

Name: Stantler
Species: Stantler

History: Brad first encountered Stantler in Ilex Forest immediately after first speaking to Celebi. Startled by his first conversation with a Pokémon, Brad soon learned of his ability to understand Pokémon through his first encounter with Stantler, adding him as a new addition to his team. Being on his team during the events of Mt. Silver, Brad is determined to find his Pokémon and take revenge on Team Universe.

Spr_5b_131.png

Name: Lapras
Species: Lapras
Gender:
Moves: Surf, Mist, Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Fissure
Location: Team Universe
Personality: Lapras is a very knowledgeable Pokémon. She has shown to make professional relationships with most Pokémon on Brad's team, and others around her as well. She is the voice of reason for the other Pokémon in the group and acts as a mentor for most of Brad's Pokémon.
History: Brad originally met Lapras in the Lavender Radio Tower in Kanto. Team Universe had attacked the Tower and Brad used Lapras from a Pokéball that Team Universe had stolen to battle. Eventually, Lapras proved her battling skill and her trainer, a worker at the tower, chose for Lapras to stay with Brad and help with the fight against Team Universe. Although Lapras' main goal is to fight Team Universe and their plans, she remains a powerhouse in Brad's team during Contests and shows great style and ability. Lapras has grown strong romantic feelings for Drew’s Charizard, Super Nova, and remains mates with him.

The Hoenn edition of Pokémon Universe will involve a very unorthodox method of accepting new members due to the number of members already involved in Pokémon Universe. Keeping the number of existing members in mind, I have decided to only accept one or two of the people who sign up for this Role-Playing Game. Therefore, all signups will be read and analyzed by myself and the other existing members of the Role-Playing Game as of Pokémon Universe: Johto. We will then decide amongst ourselves who will be the new member(s) in Pokémon Universe: Hoenn. Soon, there will be finalists chosen out of the batch. I will make it clear when signups are closed and will send the finalists a question through PM involving the Pokémon Universe Series in order to ensure that the new member(s) understand the history of the plot and characters of the game. Please answer the question correctly as a reply to my Private Message. The new member(s) will receive one last PM when they are decided and will be announced on this thread by the 29th of July.

Happy Role-Playing!

Character:

Name: Kai Doyle
Nickname (optional): None.
Age: 16 years old.
Gender: Male.
Birthdate (optional): July 18th.
Training Career: Coordinator.
Birthplace: Dewford Island, Hoenn.

Starter Pokémon: Roselia (female), nicknamed Delia.

Appearance: Kai has slightly curly brown hairs. He wears small yellow glasses over his brown eyes and his skin is slightly tan. He also wears a small chain around his neck, made by his father when he was younger. Kai is averagely tall (5''6'), but a bit on the skinny side. He has a purple C-Gear on his left wrist and carries a grey backpack at all time, in which he carries Pokéballs, potions, a PokéNav and stuff like that. He usually wears grey jeans, a colourful polo and white sneakers, and often wears a yellow cap with a black Pokéball logo on it.

Personality: Kai is someone who usually takes his time before speaking with people. He enjoys spending his time alone with his Pokémon, but that does not make him an asocial person. He actually likes being with other people, and becomes more sociable and cheerful if he knows he can trust the person. Kai is close with those that he considers like his friend, and always tries his best to help them. He is slightly lunatic and blushes easily.

Kai is a very calm person that rarely loses his temper. He believes that there is a good side to everything and that there is goodness in everyone. However, that makes him a little carefree, and he sometime gets in trouble because of that. He also has a short attention span, meaning that he can’t stay focused on the same thing for a long time.

Personal History: Kai was born and raised on Dewford Island and lived there all his life. He had a normal, boring youth and went to the nearby trainer school. His father’s brother, Brawly, tried to teach him how to be a good trainer and how to do well in gym battles, but Kai has always been more interested by contests. This led to some problems between them, but they still get along pretty well. He learned a few tricks from him that he hopes to put to good use in contests.

His mother, Lily, was a coordinator during her youth but had to give up after a training session with her Grumpig turned bad. They were working a new move when she got hit on the head, sending her in a coma. She never participated in a contest ever since. His father, Joshua, grew on a Pokémon Egg farm, and he inherited it at his father’s death. He dislikes the idea of seeing his only son going on a journey, because he wanted him to take over the farm.

Lily had a Flareon when she was younger, but it ran away from the house when Kai was 7, leaving him with a Bite scar on his shoulder. He felt uneasy around Fire-type Pokémon since then, but he tries to not show it.

When Kai was 10, he found an injured Roselia lying on the ground in the forest near by. He convinced his parents to let him keep her and he helped her. When she was feeling better, he tried to release her, but she didn't want to leave the one who saved her life, so she stayed with him. However, he officially caught her in a Pokéball much later and gave her the name Delia. She was abandonned there by her first trainer, when she was still a Budew. He was someone rude and very selfish, who always pushed her to her limits. That wasn't enough for him, however, so he left her in the forest on Dewford island. She got in a fight with a swarm of Zubat and evolved in the process, but still got injured badly. She used to be distant and cold toward Kai, because she assumed that every human are like her first trainer. She quickly realised that she was wrong, though. The two now share a brother and sister relationship.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

Username: Gym Leader Calvin
Character: Calvin O'Brien
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Birthdate (optional): August 9th
Training Career: League
Birthplace: Fallarbor Town, Hoenn
Starter Pokémon: Zangoose(female)

Appearance: Calvin has somewhat tanned skin, which is contrasted by his light brown spiky hair and hazel eyes. He stands rather tall at 5'10", has a somewhat athletic build. He wears a blue sleeveless six pocket vest, and a long sleeved gray shirt underneath. A pair of cargo jeans, blue gloves with gray fingers, and gray running shoes complete the look.

Personality: Calvin lives by the proverb 'A wise Noctowl sat in an oak. The more it saw, the less it spoke. The less it spoke, the more it heard. Why can't we be like that wise bird?' As such, he is naturally calm and quiet, and is always analyzing everything around him. He tends to ignore statements unless they are made to him directly. He has a low tolerance for stupidity, and is very sarcastic and insulting when annoyed. He's never been 'friendly' with anyone, only calm. He has a tendency to use complex words, and neglects to explain what he means. When it comes to Pokemon, Calvin is very gentle and very toward them, regardless of how vicious they are. He has a soft spot for injured Pokemon, and hates to see any Pokemon being abused. Due to his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, he is constantly finding the slightest thing wrong with something, and will not rest until it is perfect.

Personal History: Calvin lived the life of an oddball. He never played with the other kids, constantly analyzing the environment, and being in his own little bubble. He eventually stopped showing himself to his peers, preferring to go off by himself. One particularly bad day, Calvin lost lost in the rain on Route 114, and tripped over a Seviper's tail, angering it. After running away and getting more lost, they ran past a napping Zangoose, who subsequently woke up. The Zagoose attacked the Seviper, chasing it off after a long and gruesome battle.

By the time it was over, it was already night time, and Calvin realized he was near Meteor Falls. While he went to find a place to sleep, the Zangoose followed him. Thinking it was keeping watch in case the Seviper came back, Calvin thought nothing of it. The next day, when Calvin found his way back, the Zangoose still followed him. Calvin didn't notice until the other kids saw him with the Zangoose and freaked out. Disregarding the other kids' reactions, Calvin noticed a connection with the Zangoose, and befriended it, becoming even more of an outcast, not that he cared.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

YES!!! I have been anticipating this day forever!

Name: Noa Alor
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Birthdate (optional): October 16
Training Career: League
Birthplace: Lilycove, Hoenn

Starter Pokémon: A Male Tepig nicknamed Tep

Appearance: Noa is a tall boy, standing around 5’11. He has chiseled features, a strong build of the jaw and cheekbones. Noa has shaggy, light brown hair that goes down just past his ears. When in the sun, his hair looks almost blond. It tends to curl out on the sides. Noa has mystifying, crystal blue eyes. When he is angry or depressed, they almost fade to a dull gray color. He has a small square nose, and you could consider him handsome. Noa has a broad, barreled chest area and is verily stocky. He has long legs and large feet, size 14’s. Noa has short, stubby fingers, however.

Noa is never seen without his prized baseball cap. It is red on the back and white on the front. It has a black trim and a vibrant red brim. The hat also has a blue poke ball symbol on it. Noa also wears a blue hoodie. The large pocket is a bright white, as is the hood. He also wears black baseball pants, horribly dirty and ripped. They are a bit loose fitting, drooping over a small part of Noa’s red and black tennis shoes that are never tied, but he makes do.

Personality: Noa tends to be an easy-going guy, but a lot of things set him off. He is prone to injuries, and getss verily upset with himself often. But, Noa sees things through to the end, and never backs down. He stands up for what he believes in, and reaches out to everyone, or atleast those who are kind towards Pokemon. Noa is a little flighty at times, but is honest and determined. He wants to make a difference in the wold he lives in. Noa is not really flirty, but likes to keep to himself. He isn’t afraid to make new friends, though.

Personal History: Noa had a pretty good childhood. He lived in a small cottage with his parents, a house mother, and a father that worked for Devon Corp, and his three sisters. Noa always dreamed of being a trainer, and was very jealous when his elder sister set off on her journey. He came into harm’s way with Pokemon many times, unfortunately. Once, while playing catch with his friends, and going to retrieve the ball which had rolled away into the tall grass, Noa was attacked by a Raticate. He even received terrible burns from a Magmortar’s flame drum, which he still has scars from.

Noa was an excellent student, but was constantly caught daydreaming. He was home schooled. For his twelth birthday, Noa recieved a Tepig. He loved the little fire-type, and was devastated when it ran away after being left outside one winter's night. A year later, Tepig came back to Noa, thin and tired. The boy was overjoyed. One summer, he and his family were out boating. A strom brewed up and Noa was tossed overboard. He was lost at sea, but not dead. Nope. He swam to shore, only to be taken in by an old fisherman and his wife who lived in a small cabin. A year later, Noa was claimed and returned to his parents. They moved to the Hoenn region short afterwards where Noa started his joruney.

I obviously won't make the roster. But, heck, it won't hurt to try.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

What enthusiasm.

Also, Noa is quite the big boy for 12, isn't he? Well, I'm sure people like that exist somewhere... somewhere out there... how tall is the world's tallest man again?

Adding to Pending Members.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

So yeah, I might like to sign up for this, but I have a question. From the look of things, at least if your sign-up is anything to go by, people from the last game are allowed to use their previous characters. Thus, how are we expected to make our own characters not get overshadowed by the vets? I mean, there's no way someone with a whole troupe of fully evolved Pokemon will have the same trouble with Roxanne that a rookie will. Don't get ne wrong, I'm totally psyched, it's just that that kinda thing is often a problem in sequel RPs.

Oh, and this history bit. Will we, like, need to read the whole thread, or what?

Username: JakkuEbansu

Name: Jakku Ebansu
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Birthdate (optional): 18th October
Training Career: League
Birthplace: Blackthorn City, Johto
Starter Pokémon: Mudkip- Male- Zatoichi (Commonly shortened to Zato)
Appearance: Jakku has longish, roughly cut shoulder-length dark brown hair. It's messy, so it gets in his eyes often, and sometimes it's hard to see what he's thinking, if he does have his hair over his eyes. His eyes are about emerald green, although maybe a little greyer than that. He wears glasses, and is shortsighted, so can't see terribly well without them. He has a tall, lanky figure, so he can look almost comical in his proportions, especially when running, for example. He has a small, near-unnoticeable scar on his right cheek (more in history section on this). As he's setting out on a long journey, he has a few different outfits, but generally he wears a short black jacket, with various pockets for stuff like an MP3 player and Pokenav. Underneath this is usually a T-shirt, of which he has several, with various internet memes and pop-culture references on (his current favourite is a t-shirt with 88MPH on a speedometer on it). He usually wears skinny jeans, because he thinks they make him look even taller, and he oftern gets more baggy clothes caught, or trips on them. He usually wears baseball boots, because he finds them comfy, and they look pretty good too. For colder climates, he's brought a trenchcoat, and his mother made him pack a hawaiian shirt for hotter places. Jakku intends never to wear it.
Personality: Jakku has a very immature sense of humour, which can annoy some people. It doesn't take much to start him off laughing. He takes training his Pokemon very seriously, because he really wants to be League Champ, but he regards his Pokemon as partners, more than just master and Pokemon. He's very comfortable around Pokemon, to the extent that when he was little he would get out of bed and sleep in his parents' Arcanine's bed with them instead. He loves food, and hates people who try to boss him around. He reacts very badly to people trying to tell him what to do. He also hates people who hurt or use force on Pokemon, and this can lead to violence from him.
Personal History: Jakku was born to a fire-type Pokemon breeder, and a doctor at the Pokemon Center in Blackthorn City, Johto. He used to love sitting on the roof of his house and watching the Dragons from the gym and surrounding areas fly above. However, aged six, his father (the doctor) was transferred to Lilycove City, so Jakku and his mother had to move. They finally settled in Littleroot, his father working away a lot. His mother continued her Fire-Specialised Pokemon Breeding, so Jakku enjoyed his home life, hanging around with the Fire Pokemon. When he was Seven, he headed off into the woods on his own, with a Charmeleon his mother owned. He was missing for a week, before returning unharmed, but with a scar on his right cheek. Neither said what had happened in the woods. Jakku still has a vast kinship with the Fire Type.
Jakku went to retrieve his starter two months ago. He hasn't left home yet, preferring to bond with his chosen partner first. They train each day out in the wilderness around Littleroot, and Zatoichi has started to become stronger. Jakku has not yet tried to catch any wild Pokemon, as he wants Zato to become strong by himself, with only Jakku to help him, in order to further their friendship. Jakku is concerned about Zato sometimes, as on their first day together, he fled. Jakku had to spend six hours out in the darkness of the night, looking for him. Zato respects Jakku, but Jakku still keeps an eye on him. On the night he found Zato, Jakku began having a recurring dream- Returning to Blackthorn City, and defeating the Dragon's Den, along with an immensely powerful team, including a powerful Swampert. He is sure this dream will come true.

Players who are returning from Pokémon Universe: Johto will still retain all of their old Pokémon. For example, my character, Brad, is using his Vespiquen, Budew, and Dragonite to compete in Pokémon Contests that he obtained in his previous journeys. New Trainers, however, will be starting their first journey and therefore must travel with Pokémon that they have caught throughout their Hoenn journey. If you are still confused, don't hesitate to inform me. Feel free to read Pokémon Universe: Johto to learn of how the new Trainers and returning Trainers interact with each other.

@JakkuEbansu: Thank you for posting. You will be added to the Pending Members list.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

Username: Kamex

Character:

Name: Matt Becker
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Birthdate: October 3
Training Career: Trainer
Birthplace: Pallet Town, Kanto

Starter Pokémon:
Wartortle (Kamex), ♂

Appearance:
Matt is now 6 feet tall, which is considerably taller than what his height was back in Johto. His dark brown hair is now longer, at medium length. He has also become notably more muscular, sporting a prominent, attractive physical image.

Personality:
Matt is generally a good person, and usually tries his best to get along with everyone that he crosses paths with. A mature, responsible individual, Matt opts to use his social skills and leadership qualities to help the people that surround him get along. He tries to see the good in people, albeit he fails to do so at times. Matt is serious in nature and often acts as the voice of reason for those around him, but can also be rash and quick to make mistakes himself. He is a very loyal friend and tends to get attached to people fairly quickly; he will also go out of his way for the ones he loves. He is very protective of his friends, Pokémon and things he believes in, and has a strong sense of justice. Matt is creative and he uses his problem-solving skills to try and make the best of every situation, even when he is at a disadvantage, which is often when his competitive and ambitious nature kicks in and also when he shows his immense determination. While an accepting, generally pleasant and peaceful man, Matt is a strong person and hard to control, as he does not tend to give up easily. His personality may seem straightforward, but it takes knowing him very closely to be aware of everything there is to him.
Traveling with his new friends has changed Matt over time, particularly Brad, who Matt has since become best friends with. Brad has become an important person in his life, offering him guidance with his problems and being there for him in his times of need. Having someone as close has brought Matt extra confidence, and made him like himself more. While as of recently struggling with his newfound feelings and part of his identity, his relationship with his best friend still plays a vital role in his life.

Personal History: Matt was born and raised in Pallet Town, Kanto. Always doing excellent in school and being helpful has made him well liked among the people who know him. Being an only child, he would often feel lonely. His parents love him more than anything, though, and they always made sure he was happy and had everything he needed.
With professor Oak being a friend of his parents, Matt always helped him in his laboratory, mostly by taking care of Pokémon out on the field, gaining a lot of knowledge and experience. It is also what sparked his interest for the profession of a Pokémon researcher.
His dad, John, is a skilled trainer, who owns mostly Flying types, with the exception of Machoke (Napoleon, male) and Growlithe (Rusty, male), who is more like a family dog. His other Pokémon are his starter and main Pokémon Pidgeot, (Ace, male), Noctowl (Storm, male) and Swellow (Skye, male). In his youth, he trained at the Violet City Gym. Matt wishes to have a battle with him one day, especially his Pidgeot. His dad's sister, also a Flying type trainer, moved away to Hoenn, where she lives today with her daughter.
Vivian, his mom, is a coordinator from Viridian City. A top coordinator, she is good at appeals as well as battles. She uses mostly Grass types, which coincides with her love for gardening and plants. Her Pokémon are: a Meganium (Pansy, female) -her starter whom she received as a gift from her aunt, who was traveling Johto-, Vileplume (Flora, female), Beautifly (Lily, female), Roselia (Melody, female) and a Delcatty (Artemis, male) she obtained later on. In her coordinating career, she has made a number of acquaintances, including some Gym Leaders such as Wallace, Juan and Fantina.
Starting in Johto, Matt embarked on a journey as a Pokémon Trainer. At the beginning of his Johto journey, his goal was to collect all of the 8 Gym badges and take on the Johto League. He met Jake, Drew, Enzap, Yukiko, and Luna as he arrived in the region. He quickly found his place in the group and formed friendships with all of them as he decided to travel alongside them. Through many adventures and quests, they have remained traveling partners and friends, and made a new friend when they met Kyle, who joined their group.
Out of his new friends, Matt has always been especially close with Brad as the two hit it off well from their very first encounter on the boat to Johto. The two became best friends and they formed a very close bond over time. At one point, their friendship started to grow into something bigger as they developed romantic feelings for each other, going through a series of events while attempting to deal with their newfound attraction towards each other, as well as deeper feelings. While their friendship managed to stay intact at first, it was eventually left in a somewhat damaged and uncertain state after the events that took place during the Grand Festival and the Silver Conference, culminations of the growing tension between them. Still not entirely sure about his feelings for Brad, Matt wonders what will become of them as the future of their friendship is currently uncertain.
Parting ways with the group after participating in the Silver Conference, Matt was not present for the disaster that occured at Mt. Silver and does not know where his friends currently are nor exactly what happened.
Matt's next destination is the warm region of Hoenn, where Team Universe have recently been spotted. Taking only 3 of his Johto Pokémon, Matt is headed to the south as he is getting ready to start the uncertainty that his next journey is.

History: Kamex is Matt's starter Pokémon whom Matt received as a gift from Professor Oak at the early age of 7 after he took care of him in his lab. Originally a frail Squirtle, Kamex eventually became a strong, skilled Pokémon under Matt's care and the two developed a tight bond, becoming inseparable. A powerful and skilled battler, Kamex eventually evolved in Azalea Town, and remains Matt's partner Pokémon as well as his powerhouse. Kamex has developed a close bond with Matt's best friend Brad, and the three have become, largely due to Matt and Brad's ability, a group of their own.

After he got better, Pidgey did not want to leave Matt, so he became his Pokémon, named Aero, evolving into a Pidgeotto shortly after. Grateful for what his Trainer has done for him, Aero is still a loyal and trustworthy Pokémon and a vital part of Matt's team. He has also been shown to care about his Trainer a lot, and has become quite attached to Matt.

While deemed creepy by most of his surroundings, Surgeon is largely misunderstood and though often having the best intentions, they are overlooked when he makes the others uncomfortable.
History: Matt and Surgeon first met in Union Cave. As the group was making their way to Azalea Town, Matt got startled by the small Paras and even though he had no intentions on catching him, the Pokémon, whose name is the courtesy of Luna, became an addition to Matt's team by accident. Though initially found creepy by the others, Surgeon eventually found his place in the group. History: Matt first crossed paths with Spartacus in Ilex Forest, when the feisty Heracross attempted to attack Matt for enetering his territory. After a long, hard battle, Matt caught him. Shortly after, Spartacus defended Matt with his powerful Brick Break attack when they were attacked by a wild Ursaring. It was evident that he would quickly become a reliable part of Matt's team, and he has indeed been used in numerous battles, establishing his spot as a senior team member for Matt.

History: Matt obtained Epona in Ecruteak as a birthday present from his parents. She was a shy Pokémon from the start, but took a liking to Matt and started to trust him after a very short while. He generally does not get along with fellow Pokémon nor humans, but has been shown to have become calmer and behaved under the care of Matt's dad.
History: Matt caught Stryke after an extremely intense battle during the Bug-Catching Contest in Johto's National Park. Due to Stryke's erratic behavior, Matt later decided to let his dad train him and discipline him, in hopes of making him less agressive. Stryke made a brief return to Matt's team during the Silver Conference, where it was shown that he had learned how to control his strength and behavior.

Bravo. Accepted.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

Username: Hypersonic

Name: Utsuho
Nickname: (N/A)
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Training Career: League
Birthplace: Littleroot Town

Starter: Pawniard

Appearance: She’s 5’3” and weighs 120 pounds. She has short, black hair, and red eyes. Her common attire is black shorts and a red short-sleeve shirt, with black shoes. She has a red C-Gear strapped to her right wrist. Her skin is pale, as a rare skin condition prevents her from getting tanned or sunburned. She has a black backpack filled with medicine, a Nintendo DSi (black, of course), some TMs, various types of Pokéballs, a thermos, and more. For reasons known only to her, she has a pair of serrated daggers, one strapped to each upper leg, which can be pulled out in a second if needed.

Personality: Despite her intimidating appearance, she’s actually quite friendly to anyone she isn’t battling. She is also willing to stand up for herself and others. She’s very strategic when it comes to battling; she’s bought several different TMs in preparation for her adventure. Though losing a Pokémon battle upsets her, she has a ton of fun playing video games with people regardless of the outcome. Her main musical interest is metal, but she does like some other songs. Other interests include anime and military weaponry.

Personal History: Born in the rural town of Littleroot, Utsuho has learned various survival skills during her childhood. She was home-schooled, and as a result, already has the equivalent of a high school diploma. She’s been a Pokémon Trainer since she was 10, with her starter being a Torchic. She caught her Pawniard at the age of 12, but when she was 14, her Torchic came down with a fatal rare disease. Her father serves in the army and is away for 9 months out of the year; he’s only off-duty in the winter. When he’s been at home, however, he’s also been teaching her basic fighting techniques used by Hoenn’s army. As such, she has developed a certain degree of military-grade basic combat skills. She isn’t exactly Special Ops material, but she can at least hold her own against most foes.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

You're good. I was wondering at first where the Pokémon section was, but then realized that this is a new character. You're accepted.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

Wait, we're allowed to have Pokemon that aren't from Hoenn?

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

Yes, yes we are. You see, it is possible to own Pokémon that do not originally live in Hoenn as long as their habitat is realistic and satisfies the proper niche for that Pokémon.

For example, the character Matt caught an Electrike at Glitter Lighthouse.

Re: Pokémon Universe: Hoenn (Signups Open)

I see you've changed your Starter Pokémon.
