"Mr. Gibles! Use Slash!" Luna shouted. Mr. Gibles slashed Pidgey out of the sky. Pidgey fell to the ground, fainted. Slash had scored a critical hit. Falkner grunted as he recalled the Pidgey. He tossed another Pokeball into the air, revealing a Pidgeotto.
"Go Pidgeotto!" Falkner shouted. Mr. Gibles growled at the bigger bird. He didn't seemed intimidated by the growl.
"Pidgeotto! Aerial Ace!" Falkner shouted. Pidgeotto became a blur and struck Mr. Gibles backwards.
"Mr. Gibles! Dragon Rage!" Luna commanded. Mr. Gibles began growling furiously and charged straight into Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto slammed into the ground, and a large thud was heard throughout the gym. It weakly stood up.
"Roost!" Falkner replied calmly. Pidgeotto glowed and regained health. Luna mentally cursed herself. She didn't know that was coming, and neither did Mr. Gibles. Luna then thought of something and smirked.
"Right now, I would use Dig to finish Pidgeotto off, but I'm not gonna do that," Luna smirked, "I think Crunch will do the job! Finish it!" Mr. Gibles crunched his saw-like teeth into Pidgeotto before spitting him out onto the floor. Pidgeotto tried to get up, but fainted. Falkner growled and returned the fainted pokemon.
"Good job, here's the Zephyr Badge," Falkner replied as he tossed Luna the badge. Luna thanked him and made her way back to the stands.
