If I were a Gym Leader and an evil syndicate came to your town and tried to steal a huge legendary Pokémon from old legends... I would probably try to stop them.

And no, I'm not annoyed with the events, by the way. I guess I was just never really a fan of the whole concept of legendaries that are oh so important and better and whatnot by default.
They're just powerful and that's basically why Team Universe wants the Gen I and II legendaries, anyways. The Gen III and IV legendaries have more to do with creation and protection and that whole deal than the rest of them so they're either trying to use the Gen III and IV legendaries for their plan of creating a new universe or they're trying to get rid of them that way they don't try to get in the way of their plans and save the existing universe.
The way I look at it is most legendaries are just like unusually powerful Pokemon, but some are truly on a higher level. Like I think that it should be nearly impossible to defeat a Pokemon like Lugia or Palkia, ignoring what the games say.
