Sorry everyone for not being around lately, but I'm taking a writing-intensive philosophy course (quite proud with my essay on the merits of a Platonic approach to courage compared to my own personal interpretations of the concept), so I've been keeping myself away from a lot of the internet.

I will tell you that I have just started working on what may be a first real fan fiction, which while not explicitly PokeShippy, will definitely feature it heavily. I've got a characters list and everything. It takes place on a sort of alternate reality of the Pokemon world, with different roles for many of our favorite characters (same characters, but different situations), and an already planned novel take on one of our community's favorite plot twists. Also, I make up a few important characters (like Tracey Sketchit's uncle, but that's all I'm giving you).
The focus will be more on the people and their stories rather than Pokemon and the battles, which was something that always irked me in my human-centric approach to Pokemon. I also make an appearance in the form of a character as well, incidentally.

That's all for now, tell me what you think of the idea so far, it's still in the brainstorming stages.

The description you give is very vague so it's hard for me to make a judgment. However, given your intelligence and penchant for human interest stories, I'm sure it will be interesting.

You flatter me, although let me endeavor to provide a more in-depth description...

In this world, the Pokemon World is not some utopic happy fun land, but rather a more realistic land, complete with warring nation states. The agents of Hoenn Imperialism have assimilated the regions of Johto, Kanto, and Sinnoh into a larger Hoennian Imperium, and newly discovered Isshu is a colony under the contreol of the Isshu Silph Company (British East Indies Trading Company analog). The reisistance movement is still strong in Kanto, and much of the old Johtoan nobility have fled to their brethren there for refuge from the ruthless persecutions of the Imperial State and the politically powerful Manstorm Party, a shadowy organization with a dark agenda. The Common People of Kanto are on the brink of revolt, and with the aid of the Johto aristocrats, who still hold some sway within the Imperium's political structure, can they succeed?

As you may have guessed, I will be re-imagining some characters as members of the nobility, the Imperium, the common peasants, or the Manstorm Party. I'll be taking some liberty with backgrounds and names as well, and introducing my own character. The time period is sort of like immediately pre-World War I Europe. Still Old World enough, but not technologically underwhelming. It's sort of the 1890s equivalent of the Pokemon World. I've yet to decide who the protagonist will be (Ketchum will be a major character, but I really don't want him to be the main one).

Does this help? Plenty of opportunities for PokeShipping and more in a country on the brink of war!

That certainly does help! You're a history buff aren't you?

This sounds quite epic. I like the allegory thing you've got going there. Of course you, as a history major, write a historical story. I myself am writing a pokeshipping epic relating to my college major (well, hopefully epic). Mine's a sci-fi story and I'm a Physics major. I have Ash, Misty, Brock and all of the Pokemon world get caught up in a Millenia old conflict that has been waged over multiple universes.

My main character is an OC from a planet that's somewhat similar to Earth. He is a member of an elite group of soldiers from different worlds who fight against an empire bent on expanding to every habitable planet, by any means necessary. Well, he and a few of his friends, through a rather unfortunate circumstance, get sent to the recently discovered Pokemon world, where they meet Ash.

I could go into it more, but I won't, unless you want me to, as my post has gotten a bit long.

All my stories involve my major because it's English.

So I think I finally had a pokeshipping dream last night, only I can't remember a bit of it. Just that Ash and Misty were there and even that's vague haha...sorry, this is a really boring post haha

That does sound pretty awesome (although I dropped history in Year 9 because I was so bad at it - I hope I can keep up with this story, haha)

Well my major's Music, which means I'd probably be better at AMVs than fanfics, but hey, I'll try both.

Speaking of AMVs, I'm actually in the process of finishing one up right now. It's AAML of course.

Ah, then I look forward to seeing it.

Here's a new topic:

How would Ash react upon seeing Misty if she were to visit him in Unova? How would Misty act upon meeting Iris?

He would obviously be shocked and I would hope extremely happy as well. As for Misty meeting Iris, I can't say. Misty would have being a gym leader in common with her so they might hit it off. On the other hand, if Iris has shown signs of liking Ash, she might be hostile.

Also, that AMV I was working on is now finished. Here's the link.

That sounds a lot like my idea for a Warhammer 40,000/Pokemon crossover. Except that in mine, the Imperium stumbles across the Pokemon world and proceeds to obliterate all opposition in order to dominate it and subject it to its totalitarian rule and worship of the God-Emperor. So considerably less happy, I imagine.

Pokemon + Warhammer 40k = Awesome. That actually does sound kinda like mine, but not enough to be an issue. And mine isn't exactly happy either. Mass enslavement, mass genocide and the like. It doesn't even end particularly well (besides the fact that pokeshipping happens, of course)...

How would Ash react upon seeing Misty if she were to visit him in Unova? How would Misty act upon meeting Iris?

Well, Ash would just be the way he was the other times she came to visit him, surprised and excited, but could be more excited. Misty would act friendly to Iris, but we rarely see the characters' inner monologue, so my guess is that she would be stricken off balance and would reassure herself that nothing is going on between them, just like the last 2 girls. Who knows? Ash might even show some feelings for Misty this time (maybe... maybe *sigh*).

Ehh, dark themes aren't for everyone. No offense taken.

Ash: Misty? *shocks, can't believe on what he sees but a sense of smile upon his face, happy to see a long time friend whom he always want to see*

Ash: *smiles* Misty!*running toward her*

Misty: Hi Ash!and..hi...who is she? *glad of seeing new companions but a little curious of Iris place in Ash's life.*

Iris: *coughs* Hello there, and who are you supposed to be..? *a little conflict is beginning, thinking who is Misty and why is she know Ash*

Dent: so you're.. Dento is much surprise seeing Misty and Ash's chemistry*he might be glad to know* sorry,I added dento:)

--------------------
I think Misty and Iris would get well together,(maybe,as long as they will not mention feeling for Ash).Ash would be glad and surprise to see her. They might be given some time to talk about their life while Iris likes to know more about Misty. and Dent tries to tease Ash and Misty

Those were great dreams btw!

I don't think Misty would feel any envy or anything towards Iris. Misty is more mature now than she used to be, and when she met May she didn't get jealous or anything. Then again, May didn't have feelings for Ash. But neither does Iris. And like I said, Misty has matured. So I think she'd be more than happy to meet Iris and get along with her. And of course, she'd be thrilled to see Ash again. :]

^ I totally agree. I doubt Misty being jealous towards Iris or something.
I think they could get along pretty well and Iris may like her a lot and would be kinda happy to meet Ash's old friends and traveling companions. And Ash would be very excited of seeing Misty again. Perhaps a little bit nervous too, as they haven't seen each other for a while.

Do you Ash would ever ask Misty to join him in his journey?
