  1. She/Her
I hang on because of my own tastes. Dawn is just not Ash's type. Sure, she's sweet and all, but so are a lot of my friends. Doesn't mean I'm going to start a relationship. Hell, one of them is already practically engaged to a different person. Misty is what Ash needs. She's always been tough and ready to travel and has frankly taken care of him and helped him no matter what. Since Ash seems to get pulled into so many adventures, Misty is the perfect partner for him. Dawn... yeah, she's been in on the adventures too, but really, she's never seemed to handle them as well as Misty.

I just feel that Pokeshipping is truth. Misty and Ash have a chemistry, a connection that doesn't allow them to let go of another even when miles apart.

Ash is good friends with Dawn. But his heart, somewhere really deep, longs for Misty.

And there you have my answer.

Surprised no one's commented on my post yet. :goof:
When Misty and May met, didn't May ask Misty about doing the contest thing, and Misty said that she wasn't interested in it? It could be true that Misty decides to do the whole contest thing, and follow Ash to whatever region the writers decide to create next. Also, that could set up a really awesome jealousy scene with May/Dawn. That would be a really great way for Misty to confess. I always pictured it in some sort of jealousy-way!
Hasn't she already sorta confessed, though? I remember years ago I saw one of those Hoeen (sp?) Specials, and for that one, this guy liked her, and she pretty much admitted she was interested in someone else or something. She didn't come right out and say Satoshi, but seems that's what the implication was.

You would be referring to one of the Pokemon Chronicles episodes? I think I remember an episode where something like that happened. Chronicles showed Misty thinking a lot about Ash and how much she wanted to see him again (if memory serves correctly).

As for your previous post, your views mirror my own. I agree that things feel quite unresolved between Ash and Misty but perhaps having her go back to her gym and begin fulfilling her dream of being the greatest Water pokemon trainer was seen as closure enough for the writers. :-/

It was Pokemon Chronicles #11, "A Date with Delcatty."

When Giorgio asks Misty out on a date, Misty declines, prompting Casey to ask her “Why not? Is there someone else?”

Misty blushes and acts defensive. Suddenly, Psyduck bursts out of his pokeball and sniggers knowingly at her. Misty yells at Psyduck, prompting Casey to decide that “there IS someone else, isn’t there!”

Why do I hold on?

Let me tell you.

Whenever I look at Ships to support in any show, I always look at what is most canon (that is, has the best or most hints). That's how I got into ConestShipping, that's how I got into DramaShipping (Gwen/Trent from TDI/A), that's how I got into Kataang, and that's how I got into PokeShipping. Unless Ash blatantly gets a girlfriend who isn't Misty, I'll be a PokeShipper.

Right. I've counted 27 episodes/movies/specials with hints. Note--that means "episodes with hints," not individual hints. Individual hints...I found about 40.

Whether or not the ship is finished, I think it's safe to say that Pokeshipping is/was the most deliberate attempt at a romantic interest for Ash on the part of the writers, or at least the most aggressively shipped pair on the part of the writers.

Not really.Honestly closure has never been provided in this area, and aside from Whirl Cup and few other occasions her goal was never expanded more along with Misty coming to some significant realization that she is close toward her dream.Being a gym leader simply isnt enough in order to achieve this.

In order to become water master(greatest water trainer in world) she would have to be at least on E4 level if not even higher and she clearly isnt even close there. The key for becoming stronger lyes in leaving gym for some period of time.

Now for someone like Prima/Lorelai(who is ice type master) or Wallace who is considered one of best water trainers in world could be said how they are one of strongest water trainers out there.

Nevertheless from what it has been showed in older series, while Misty was travelling it was showed how in order to become what she wants is also needed to participate in water based events like Whirl Cup which mentioned something about her goal(reffering to "Around The WhirlPool" and "Dueling Heroes" episodes),and Misty herself never showed desire to be gym leader.

In reality being a gym leader doesnt make you one of strongest water trainers in world and at this position it isnt possible to become one. Some people are gl for their whole life like Pryce and Blaine and however they still arent even close to Battle Frontier or E4 level.Reason? They arent receiving enough experience.

Mistys goal is more connected with travelling than staying at one place as it has been showed many times.Wallace is one of examples,he left gym to improve himself later on becoming contest master, league champion and one of best water trainers in world.

p.s.Apologies for disturb.I just wanted to point out something.

I respect Gym Leaders a whole lot. In the context of games, they're considered to be tough. However, the Anime really doesn't give them much credit. The manga did a better job in portraying the Gym Leaders, especially the Pokemon Special Manga. Misty and others there are EXPERTS in their Pokemon-types and their skills are recognized by people and the League.

Putting the Gym Leader thing aside, the hints of PokeShipping are very substantial. It has the most hints and the solid ones.

Thats true.I was just pointing out how its different case with anime, and how gym leader position doesnt make you water master(one of strongest water trainers in world),nor its possible to achieve that level of skill with said position.

But your right gym leaders are considered being more tough in manga and games, though even there they arent exactly on level of strongest trainers(like E4,champions etc).

Man, how I wish the Anime would feature something as cool as the Gym Leader Exhibition Match in the PokeSpecial Manga. In that way, we get to see awesome battles, the gym leaders from every region, and more Misty.

A match like that would definitely invite some of the best trainers around to be an audience. Ash would want to go to that.

That would be awesome and make for an excellent time for Misty to appear again, and perhaps more shipping hints with Ash.

And pokemon fan 132, I wasn't saying that I viewed Misty taking over the gym was closure on her part, just that it could be concluded that the writers felt it was by her long absence from the show. But I think Misty needed to be the full time gym leader before she could truly make some headway on becoming a stronger trainer. The first thing that ended up happening when she returned to the gym was she overcame her fear of Gyarados and added a very powerful pokemon to her line up. I do see your point, so I'm not arguing, just talking. :)

Ok i guess i missunderstood,so my apologies from that part.
Its true that gym has served as somekind of stepping stone toward her dream helping her,i was just saying how this can only get you to one point. After that way to become stronger is in travelling(which is one of valid reasons why she should return to cast),learning more about water types in wild(their natural habitat),battling against stronger trainers(than ones at gym),competing in prestige water based events(like Whirl Cup etc).Wallace is good indicator.

As for writers,it happens that they written Misty out of show without some build up or giving her closure(even her departure was quite random wanting to stay, returning back to gym out of obligation, because her sisters left). It could be said that she left the cast with chapters of her story being left open.

With her story still pending, it will be so cool if they decided to maker her champion of a Water Pokemon competition or something.

I'm itching to see her battle again with Ash. With the fancy effects now and the time they've grown as individuals and trainers, Misty and Ash can give us a battle worth watching.

No need to apologize. I know my writing style can be confusing so I am partially to blame.

I fully agree that Misty's story is still wide open and should be properly concluded at some point. I'm not sure why the Pokemon Chronicles were created, but it was very nice to learn of a few of Misty's other adventures so perhaps they are saving her return for a later time?

Perhaps Misty will come back if the series starts heading towards Ash taking his adventure to the next level. You're completely right that Misty needs to go beyond being a gym leader to really achieve an Elite 4 level of mastery, and I feel Ash needs to start taking on greater challenges beyond mainly gym battles and the odd competition that he comes across to become a master himself. Since there'll be a lull in the games for a new region, it'd be a perfect time for the show to head in a more challenging direction. Lots of tournaments, lots of intense adventures and a lot of intense battles. It'd be awesome and with Misty back, we'd have a comedic aspect that's been missing since Misty left. I'm sure Croagunk and Misty would get along famously. :ksmile: Sorry, getting a little carried away there with the possibilities.

That's probably why I'm still into Pokeshipping. It also feels unresolved. I know the writers copped out when it came to people Satoshi previously encountered on his journey, and how he'd "see them again", but I'd find it odd if they don't write in something as far as Kasumi is concerned since she was his first traveling buddy, and seems to be the only girl Satoshi has spent the most alone time with when traveling. I don't recall his traveling with Haruka all that long alone (I barely remember the first few AG eps at all, to be honest. ^^). Oh, and it also seems like Kasumi is the only girl Satoshi has been with in a 'date' situation. Why write something like that if they're not going to do something with it? Why throw in hints (according to you guys anyway) when Kasumi isn't even there? Out of curiosity, has Satoshi ever viewed any girl, aside from Yuuto/Giselle, the way he had Kasumi like in The Ghost of Maiden's Peak? IMO, if there hasn't been, then that's one of the strongest hints that the anime has.
Out of curiosity, is there any truth in this? I was surprised no one commented on this particular part since I'm a "newb", technically, to the later series.

Hmm, adding onto the discussion...something else I would like to see if Kasumi comes back for whatever the reason. I would like both to have aged by at least a year. I want Satoshi taller than Kasumi too (unless he already is. I dunno). You know, a way to show that not only have they grown mentally and matured over time, but physically as well. I still would like a big hug. I hope those writers think this whenever they do bring her back. Seriously, don't they know how popular a character she seems to be?

Oh, here's a question. Is Satoshi x Kasumi a popular pairing still in Japan?
