The Togepi evolution chain is rather funny looking back. Especially when taking into consideration how Togepi ended up with Misty and all the hilarity that occurred at that time.

Now, the idea of using the Cerulean Cape for some Misty episodes is quite fitting, especially in light of HGSS and GSC (for those that played those games :-D ). I think a kiss would be a bit too much for the writers to include, but I would love to see Misty kiss Ash's cheek and perhaps that wouldn't be a huge stretch for the writers. Personally, if Ash and Misty were at the cape, I'd like to see something happen where Ash would hug Misty to protect her and afterward, that lead to Misty kissing Ash's cheek as her thanks to him.

Puh-lease! Someone write a fanfiction of that and do a good job.

If I wasn't so busy, I would definitely write a fanfic out of this idea. It's gold!

It is a nice idea, but somehow I just don't see the kiss, haha. Just a really big hug from Satoshi would suit my needs.

A couple of new things to say, yep yep!

What would be your seven favorite hints for Pokeshipping?

Old topic, but always fun-- I want to see if anyone changed their minds.

Second thing to say:

I think most people have seen the original trailer for Mewtwo Strikes Back, right? The one with the little girl most Pokeshippers believe is Satoshi and Kasumi's child? Someone did a little translation. I couldn't identify who said what, the the first couple lines are:

Blue haired lady: Hey, what would be your dream?

Children: To ???? (probably own) all 151 pokemon!

Blue haired lady: Ohh.. the same as me!

Pink haired child: What? Even though you're an adult? that's weird...

Blue haired lady: What? Why cant I?

Another child: Its not that...

Blue haired lady: Hey, you guys... do you have any other dreams?

Pink haired girl: Um... i have one additional dream...

Later...

Pink haired girl: Is that Pikachu?

Blue haired lady: Oh, it is!
I wish Kasumi had said something and not just sat there. Unless she got a really deep voice all of the sudden since she's an adult...I'd really like to figure out the rest, but right now I can only catch bits and pieces...

Final thing to say for this post:

What's really annoying is...when I get in a nostalgic Pokemon mood. I go watch the old episodes and get really attached to Misty all over again. Then I remember Dawn is the main character girl, Ash is in Sinnoh, and reality comes crashing down.

Yeah...that happened this weekend.

My favorite Pokeshipping hints are the ones that show that Ash cares (because Misty's feelings are obvious). My favorite hint of all is the episode where they are at that festival and Misty comes out in the kimono and Ash is impressed, to say the least.

I think we've gotten too obsessive with mentioning blush moments...other ships are starting to think that's the only stuff we have. Technically speaking, the blush isn't necessary.

So, What are the best non-blushing hints can we think of?

Wha la, another topic to discuss. + This one:

What would be your seven favorite hints for Pokeshipping?

Wow, I didn't think my idea for a Ash/Misty scene would spawn so many calls for a fanfic about it. :lol: Makes me wish I was a more motivated writer, but I'm not, so if anyone wants to use that idea, I'd love to read it. :ksmile:

What would be your seven favorite hints for Pokeshipping?

Time to tax my memory:
  • The scene at the end of "Ghost of Maiden's Peak" where Misty is wearing a kimono and her hair down before inviting Ash to dance with her. (At least I think she invited him to dance with her. Been a long time since I watched that episode.)
  • In "Princess vs. Princess", Ash's moody attitude about why he thinks Misty entered the contest and also his reaction to her again wearing a kimono.
  • In "The Song of Jigglypuff", as Jigglypuff is singing and Team Rocket is approaching, you see Misty on the far left, then Pikachu, then Ash beside Brock who's on the far right. When Jigglypuff stops sing, Misty and Ash are leaning against each other, Brock in sprawled out and Pikachu is now between Ash and Brock. An error in animation perhaps, but Ash and Misty didn't seem to notice their closeness upon waking.
  • The way Misty reacted to Ash's compliment in "March of the Exeggutor Squad". (Lots of blushing, yes, but the simple fact that she had worn bikinis around him before and was now embarrassed about Ash noticing is telling for me.)
  • If you allow movie hints, then in "The Power of One" where Misty tells Melody that Ash is her burden (or so I've been told was the Japanese line) before going off after him.
  • Ash being extremely protective of Misty's lure when Dawn asked if she could use it in "Buizel Your Way Out of This".
  • I can't really dissect "Misty Meets Her Match" to point out specific hints since I feel there are several, but probably Misty rooting for Ash in the end and Ash actually trying to figure out what Rudy is talking about in the end instead of just brushing it off.

Hmm, seven favorite Pokeshipping hints, eh? Let's see what comes to mind...

The Ghost of Maiden's Peak: This is my number 1. I know I've mentioned this a lot, but I pretty much consider the entire episode "Pokeshippy" for reasons stated earlier. The way the two carried on for it, it really really seemed like a date. Brock was overlooked by those two, while they enjoyed the festiviities. The ending of the episode, where Ash stares at her in that "new light", was just icing on the cake.

Naval Maneuvers: I liked the fact that for once, Ash seemed to be showing signs of jealousy. The part that was "shippy" for me, aside from the fact that he got distracted when climbing that cliff, was when he got to the top and thought that Misty was running towards him, but she wasn't. His reaction was cute.

The Misty Mermaid: This is something I wish I could see originally, as I'm curious if it was a dub insert or not. Anyway, I liked the ending where Ash was complimenting Misty and she told him to quit the sweet talk and how he still owed her a bike.

Tower or Terror (was that the name)?: I think this is the right episode. During the Sabrina arc stuff. If I'm remembering right, the trio was going through the fog. Brock suggested that they hold hands so that they wouldn't get separated. Ash and Misty grabbed hands without thinking twice about it and it was also shown. Seems kind of pointless to show the handhold that way if it didn't possibly mean something. The other thing I didn't find too shippy, just fun to watch. When Ash picked Misty up while in his ghost form and she was the only one who could hear him (which could imply that the two have a strong connection to one another). Also, the end where Misty was on the verge of tears...it may seem odd, but for me, that wasn't "shippy" at all, only because I could see her reacting that way to anyone she considered a friend. The role could've been reversed, and Brock could've been lying there, and I would've expected her to cry.

Forest Grumps: It's a Johto episode. Anyway, it was when the groups were separated. Misty ended up with James and Meowth, and Jessie ended up with Ash and Brock. The "hinty" part I liked, was when they two groups reunited. Seems the reunion focused on pretty much just Ash and Misty (for the twerps' side).

Misty Meets Her Match: For me, I liked when Ash seemed to be bothered by the lack of attention from Misty, who was giving all of her attention to Rudy. The part that really comes to mind, was when he had to do that target practice thing, and was distracted and took out Charizard who charred Rudy and Misty.

The Buizel Ep: I'm only putting this down because it shows that the boy does acknowledge her still. The lure thing is hinty to me because there was no reason for him not to let Hikari use it. He did seem overprotective of the lure and to me, that could count as a hint...then again, could mean something else too... I just thought it was cute..

I can't really narrow it down to seven, but Ghost of Maiden's Peak, Misty Mermaid, Gotta Catch Ya Later, and Pokemon 2000. Those are really high up there.

Ok ok, I know that the Pokeshipping hints have been debated to death, but still, there's nothing I'd rather discuss!!!

My top 5? Hmmmmm...

~~~
My top 5 Pokeshipping-episodes would have to be, in reverse order:
~~~

5.) 1.03: "Ash Catches a Pokemon" --

Ash, willing to continue his journey alone, is followed by Misty. Upon noticing her pursuing him in Viridian Forest, Ash puts her on the spot and asks her, "Why are you still following me?" Misty “sweatdrops” and unconvincingly stutters back, "M...My bike! I'm holding you responsible for my bike!" in an insincere manner.

Near the end of the episode where she says "I've never known anyone like him. He really does love Pokémon". She does so in body language befitting that of an infatuated girl.

~~~
4.) 4.200: "The Heartbreak of Brock" --
When Ash muses over the idea of a married Brock, Misty absent-mindedly says, “You and I will be married someday.” Ash nods his head without realizing it, and then realizes what she said in astonishment a few seconds later. (YES, I KNOW THIS WAS DUB-ONLY, SEE THE REAL HINT BELOW)...
Misty councils Brock saying, “Take it from me, it’s a lot easier to like someone who likes you than to like someone who doesn’t!” Brock then asks, “How do you know?” Misty gets flustered, sweating and blushing, and stammers, “Well, errrrrr, that’s what I’ve heard!”
This was really a bittersweet hint. It showed a little less levity than we normally come to expect from Pokemon's humorous romantic escapades. I think this hint added a lot of depth to the show.
~~~

3.) 2.102: "Wherefore Art Thou Pokemon?" --

When Misty suggests that, even though they fight, the two Nidoran-trainers are a match made in heaven, Tracey remarks, “Hey! It’s the exact same thing with you and Ash!” The two vehemently deny it, nearly taking Tracy’s head off after a death glare.

Ash muses “I wonder if people change when they get kissed…” to which Misty replies, “I guess we’ll just have to find out ourselves!”

~~~
2.) 2.105: "Misty Meets Her Match" --
Rudy, the gym-leader, is smitten with Misty and spends much of the episode actively wooing and courting her, to the visible annoyance of Ash.
When it comes time for Ash and Rudy to battle, Misty is torn, but finally comes down on Ash’s side, causing a disheartened Rudy to remark… “She wants him…”
When Misty finally leaves with Ash, Rudy says to Ash, “You’re a very luck guy, Ash!” Ash, of course, is clueless as to why, but Rudy replies, “You’ll see someday!”
~~~

1.) 5.274: "Gotta Catch Ya Later" --

AKA, The Shippiest Episode Ever.

After Misty gets an unwanted call summoning her back to the Cerulean City Gym, she is distraught when she perceives that Ash is not sorry about their having to split up, “after all [they]’ve been through!”

Misty has a touching moment where she thanks Ash for always being a good friend to her. After a pause, he says her name, causing her to draw in expectantly, but then seemingly disappoints her when he only reminds her that she’s in a hurry. WATCH HER BODY LANGUAGE!

Misty’s last piece of advice to Ash is to “keep on doing your best… you know, without me there…” followed by a flashback song focusing mainly on Ash and Misty’s times together. See the lyrics, as they are very mushy, referring to Ash as “more than just [her] best friend…”

Compared to the relative apathy toward Brock’s departure, Misty’s teary farewell to Ash is full of intense eye contact where Misty asks if she will ever see him again, to which Ash replies “You will; I swear!” Watch how the sunset illuminates Ash and Misty's profiles. It is truly an intense moment before Brock screams like a freak and ruins something truly awesome! But alas, that is the humor of Pokemon...

Misty gives Ash (and not Brock, whom she is also leaving) a gift. What’s more, this gift is a handkerchief. In Japanese culture, a girl giving a boy a handkerchief is a sort of declaration of love.

After seeing Ash break down over their leaving, Misty rides off into the sunset, smiling, saying, “Well, Ash Ketchum, finally, I know how you feel about me!”

~~~
Runners-up include "Navel Maneuvers," definitely. Also, I don't think anything can top "Pokemon: The Movie 2000" when it comes to shippyness...but it wasn't an episode.
Maybe later I'll narrow it down to 5 individual hints...but for now, it's just my top 5 favorite Pokeshipping episodes.
My top PokéShipping hints are kinda hard to narrow down since I like them all. But if I must, I’ll state my top seven. Let’s start with my seventh favorite hint. Are you ready?
7th: Buizel Your Way Out of This
The first hint we had in DP and quite significant if you ask me. Ash showing off the lure and saying it’s pretty cool was one way of telling the viewers that he remembers Misty. Another interesting note to add is the fact he seemed very protective of the lure and didn’t even want Dawn to use it. He also was relieved when he got it back again after being stolen by Buizel.
6th: Tower of Terror
Ash became a ghost in this episode and what’s the first thing he does? He played around with Misty. You know it’s kinda weird and sweet that only Misty was able to hear his voice. Brock didn’t hear anything at all. When Misty and Brock found Ash unconscious on the floor, Misty kept begging him to open his eyes. She was on the verge of crying. As Ash woke up again, the first thing he did was to greet Misty. The girl was completely relieved that he’s alive.
5th: Dueling Heroes
Brock comments on how Misty’s battling style was similar to Ash’s. It’s also interesting to note that both Ash and Misty have similar victory poses. Prior to Misty’s battle, Ash finds Misty awake late at night and asks her why she couldn’t sleep. Misty tells him that she was just excited to be part of the competition and turns around to look outside. Ash stayed put and continually gazes at her.
4th: The Misty Mermaid and the Poké Ball Peril
Ash expresses his excitement to see Misty perform in the Water Ballet. In addition to that, he cheered for Misty very much during the underwater battle against Team Rocket. At the end of the episode, Ash sweet talks to Misty.
The Poké Ball peril hint was initiated by Team Rocket. When James says that they caught a pair of romantic creatures, Jessie and Meowth start to tease them. Misty and Ash then look at each other and quickly turn away with blushing faces. Again, they were in denial.
3rd:Wherefore Art Thou Pokémon?
Misty states that even though the two Nidoran trainers fight a lot, they’re still a perfect match, prompting Misty to say that it’s the exact same thing with her and Ash. Misty and Ash quickly deny it, scaring Tracey off with a death glare.
2nd:Naval Maneuvers and Ghost at Maiden’s Peak
Despite what other shippers say, I stand firm on my feelings about this episode. While it is debatable in some aspects, in my opinion, Ash was clearly jealous that Misty was giving all her attention to Danny. During the challenge, Misty told Danny to be careful, ignoring Ash at the same time. Ash got annoyed by this that he almost fell down the cliff. And when Ash reached the top and saw Misty running toward him, he thought she was going to greet him but she passed him and went to Danny. Poor Ashy… You’ve gotta admit that his reaction was super cute.
The Ghost at Maiden’s Peak was an episode geared toward romance. Although it doesn’t necessarily imply a romance between Misty and Ash, it was still a shippy episode. Ash had this aura of admiration when he took a gander at Misty wearing a kimono.
1st: Gotta Catch Ya Later
Undeniably the shippiest episode for PokeShippers. Misty shares a very touching moment with Ash and is thankful to him for always being a good friend to her. Ash also gives his fair share of sweet words and compliments to her. Ash and Misty’s farewell is full of eye contact and quiet exchange of goodbyes. The scenes between the two were just amazing in this episode.
Gotta Catch Ya Later...I guess it's shippy, but still wouldn't rank too high with me. Most of the hints I like are the Satoshi ones since they're rarer. Gottac Catch Ya Later was, once again, Kasumi > Satoshi stuff. It just re-emphasized that she probably liked him (hence her gift).
I know for some, it's the shippiest episode for Pokeshippers, but for me, it's Ghost of Maiden's Peak. When you have two characters carrying on like a young couple on a date...can't really see it in any other way, imo. ^^
I don't see Dawn as Ash's girlfriend. She considers Ash only as her very good friend. Nothing more. Maybe if Misty appears and show some not feelings towards to Ash but something like this maybe then we can see what Dawn really thinks about Ash. But one thing for me is very clear: Dawn doesn't feel something towards to Ash like Anabel and even not like Angie.
Ash and Dawn's relationship is simply platonic and nothing more. That's what I believe in and I totally want Dawn to be with Kenny.
