The team from Pokéthon, whose livestreamed Pokémon marathons have been raising money for a variety of worthy causes since 2013, announced earlier today that they were launching a new type of community campaign, Pokéthon Responds. Whereas their usual charity activities are compressed into marathons lasting only a few days, Pokéthon Responds is intended as a longer month-long event which can offer a rapid response to pressing issues impacting on the wider community. The first Pokéthon Responds, launching today, will be in assistance of The Equality Texas Foundation, an organisation that works to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Texans through education, community organizing, and collaboration. This campaign will run through until March 31st, the International Transgender Day of Visibility.

While anyone can support the cause by giving directly to their campaign, the Pokéthon team have also encouraged other creators to join them in starting their own campaigns using the Tiltify platform. Creators are also invited to get in contact with the Pokéthon team if they would like to take part directly either on their own streaming channel, or on the Pokéthon Twitch channel itself.

For more information, updates, and announcements from Pokéthon regarding this campaign, you can also follow them on Twitter at @Pokethon, and on their Discord server. We'll be posting details of any future Pokéthon events here on Bulbagarden as they're announced.

Pokéthon Responds Information Release said:
Pokéthon Responds is a rapid community response to pressing issues we face.

For our first Pokéthon Responds, we are supporting Equality Texas Foundation. We chose Equality Texas Foundation because of their years of impeccable work for the transgender community. The Pokémon and Pokéthon communities have a large amount of transgender members, as much of our staff, friends, and family are transgender, and we stand with them against hatred and bigotry, because we strongly believe that Trans Rights Are Human Rights.

All throughout this month, we are hosting a Tiltify campaign to all those interested, to encourage fundraising for Equality Texas Foundation. This fundraiser is not limited to the Pokéthon, Pokémon, or the Nintendo community. This is open to all creators, and will run from March 1st to March 31st, the International Transgender Day of Visibility. We ask those interested to dedicate a day to fundraising, and help spread the word to others interested in participation during arduous times.

You can join our Tiltify campaign and start raising money for Equality Texas today
