It's an adorable little frog. Well, perhaps not little, but it's an awesome pokémon, and I love it.

Politoed - it looks like something you can hug or hold. Try to do the same to Poliwrath and you'll get a punch (it looks like that, really). So nay for Poliwrath and a big YAY for Politoed.

Politoed is cuter, and I hear are more powerful. I haven't owned one before, though. However, Poliwrath can be strong- or at least kind of.

o.o wow, old thread...

Poliwrath, purely for aesthetic reasons. Politoed has never appealed to me.

I pick both.
They both appeal to me, and I'm sure I used both of them in one of my games. Helped out a lot.

Thanks.

politod is 100000x better than poliwrath. its harder to evolve because its better :D Politoed is my favorite pokemon along with shinx! poliwrath is almost the same as poliwhirl just more buff. Politoed could kick his ass

Poliwrath. Water/Fighting with a possible Water Absorb is damn good and I prefer the flexibility of going weatherless over aggressively pigeonholing my teams into weather builds. And if that's what I wanted, I'd just use Pelipper for the added Hurricane/U-turn usage.

I was 100% on Team Politoed for a long time, but I think I'm more of a Poliwrath guy now. Still really like them both, but I love how tough Poliwrath looks; it's just endearing to me somehow! It's a classic Gen 1 kind of design.

I might also prefer it just on the grounds that it's more similar to Poliwhirl, and Poliwhirl is my favorite from the family as it is.
