11.01.06 - Blog Number 4

Yo! What's up everybody?

I'm sure you all noticed the really clever blog title I came up with. Impressive huh? I decided that I'm giving up on titles for the blogs. Blog Number 4 sounds great to me.

Alright, so if you've been on our myspace page a few times (come on...it should really be a daily habit), I'm sure you've all noticed what I like to call the "Brazilian Invasion". The fans of Brazil have taken over our comment page. They have like "petitions" requesting us to come down to Brazil and play shows! That's crazy and so amazing! I was browsing our "friends" and I think almost everybody is from Brazil! What is up with that??? I love it.

As everybody knows, the Brazilians are extremely passionate. When they like something, they f*cking LOVE it. Take soccer for example... (Ok I know it's called football in the rest of the world, but for us in North America, football is a game where grown men dress up in tights and slap each other on the butt) I read somewhere that during the last world cup, some Brazilian schools had TVs set up in the classrooms in order for the kids to not miss the games. Wow!! Now that's rad!

Well it seems like the Brazilians are now passionate about SP! And trust me, we are really stoked. And because we are men of the people, we have decided to listen to all those Brazilian voices and come down to play 2 huge concerts: one in Rio on January 19th and one in Sao Paulo on January 20th. The shows should be amazing...we can't wait! Hope to see you all there.

Ok back to my exciting life...tomorrow Death Cab For Cutie are in town and I think a whole bunch of us will go check out the show. I love their new record....it's like the best make-out music ever. Beautiful melodies, cool lyrics...I'm telling you...it's good. "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" is on constant rotation on my ipod. Amazing song. So the show should be rad...def looking forward to it.

Last Sunday, we had the huge ADISQ awards here in Montreal. They are like the Grammy Awards of Quebec. It was our first time attending and it was fun. We got to play Untitled with an awesome piano player (pianist would be the better word right??) called Liam, who usually plays with The Stills, a great band from Montreal. We also invited a string quartet and the performance came out really good I think....I'm sure you can get it on youtube so let me know what you think....We also got to win 2 Awards so if you want to see us say thank you in French, stream that as well on youtube. Funny story about youtube, there's a website called utube.com that is getting millions and millions of hits because of the popularity of the real "youtube". Utube is actually a hardware company from Illinois. They said they would consider selling the domain name for nothing less than 10 million dollars....INSANE. I thought it was a pretty funny story....maybe if we all chip in we could buy utube.com....actually...maybe we don't really wanna buy utube.com....lol.

Finally, just wanted to say that we are loving all the pics you guys sent in....so rad to see what you all look like and see you guys representing SP. Thanks for taking the time to sending all this stuff in and if you haven't seen your face yet, don't worry, we got tons more pics to put up...we are a little backed up.

Alright, time to take the "last train home" like Lost Prophets would say...

Take care.

Chuck.

"My Christmas List" - Simple Plan

Santa is coming tonight
And I want a car, and I want a life
And I want a first class trip to Hawaii
I want a lifetime supply
Of skittles & slurpees and Eskimo pies
I want a DVD,
A big screen TV
Just bring me things that I don't need

[CHORUS:]
'Cuz now it's Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending
I want a million gifts, that's right
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas

Somebody take me away
Or give me a time machine
To take me straight to midnight
I'll be alright

I want a girl in my bed
Who knows what to do
A PlayStation 2
I want a shopping spree
In New York City
Just bring me things that I don't need

[CHORUS]

I wish I could take this day
And make it last forever
And no matter what I get tonight
I want more

It's Christmas and I want everything
I just can't wait
It's Christmas and I want everything now

Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending, I
Want a million gifts,
That's right
And I can't wait 'til midnight
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas
