Setting

This RP is based around the history of the Pokémon World. Very little of the world's history has been confirmed in canon, so this will be a heavily romanticised and idealised version.

In this RP, you take on the role of a member of a nomadic tribe, in a pre-agricultural, post Ice-Age society. Writing, metalworking, and wheels have not yet come into practice. Magic does not exist, but magecraft does. Stone Age people believed in many things, such as demons and spirits. By magic, I mean people blasting balls of light from their hands and whatnot – healing someone by magecraft is fine.

If any of you have read The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series of books, think of it as being like those, but with Pokémon.

So yeah, It'll be pretty open ended. You make the plot.

Location
The RP will take place in a large, forested area in the mountains. About two miles from the tribe's current camp is the ocean, and they are currently camping at the foot of a large mountain. Because of the coastal location, the camp can be somewhat cold, and the elders have set a large log on fire, and the clan members sit around it to eat. Tents have been erected around the fire, and the tribe intend to stay for at least the remainder of the moon.

Username: Niall

Name: Niall
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Alignment Pure Neutral

Partner Pokémon: Gastly

Appearance:
Niall is slightly taller than others his age, standing at around 5'10" or 5'11". His build is slightly lanky, and, although he is not especially athletic, his long legs let him sprint as well as most modern athletes.

He attempts to keep his black hair out of his eyes, but it grows very quickly, so he has his work cut out for him. As a result, he carries a small, Stantler-bone knife to cut it with.

Personality: He likes to know things, and has a good sense of humour. He's pretty relaxed, and doesn't let much get on his nerves. However, Niall despises bullies. He dislikes physical conflict, but he can hold his own in an argument. If somebody's giving him trouble, he'd rather beat them up with comebacks than get into a fight.

Although he can be pretty shy, he's also fiercely loyal to the friends he does have. He can also be a little bit arrogant, but he's rarely ever rude. One of his worst habits is correcting people, and he tends to be a little bit lazy.

He wears leggings carefully sewn from Zoroark hide, and a Tauros-leather loincloth. He wears a Tauros-skin jerkin, under an Absol cloak, which has long sleeves to keep him warm. He sometimes wears a Poochyena-fur hat, which is similar in style to a modern beanie.

On his left shoulder, he has a tattoo of an Abra head, the symbol of an apprentice mage, and on his right is a Poochyena head, the apprentice hunters' symbol.

Role Within the Tribe Pseudo-mage and Hunting Scout.

Personal History: Niall was born at a very early age. As he was a large baby, the clan elders suspected he would grow up to be a great warrior.

How wrong they were. He lacked the anger to wage war against his fellow man, so war was not a viable option. However, Niall did show promise as a hunter, due to his excellent attention to detail. The hunters took him under their wing, and taught him to use a bow. He eventually became highly skilled.

When his 13th birthday came, it was time for him to pick a profession. He could not choose between mage or hunter, as his father had been one of the clan's greatest mages. One of the clan leaders decided he showed promise in both, and he was allowed to become an apprentice mage, albeit one who would act as a scout for the hunters, looking for tracks and whatnot. He has been involved in both for the past two years.
