Yeah, Vulpix and Eevee aren't too bad for the levels but Nidorina and Weepinbell's best pre-evolution moves are pretty high level.IKR re. the stone evolutions! Always gotta look up those movesets.
Yeah, didn't know the Gym Leader's had those, fortunately the following Stun Spore worked though and got lucky avoiding Vileplume's Stun Spore

Yeah, gen 1 was kind of just more open with the dark stuff but there's a lot of dark stuff in the later games too, like the Strange House and the Ultimate Weapon in X and Y. Some of the pokedex entries are pure nightmare fuel

Yeah, been quite lucky battling the Bikers and Cue Balls, haven't been poisoned often and Weezing hasn't used Explosion so far
Yeah I though it learned Bubblebeam from levelling up too, just checked it's level up moves and the next water type attack move it learns after Water Gun is Hydro Pump but it doesn't learn it until a high level. They added Water Pulse to it's level up moves from Gen 4 onwards.
