Greetings Random Messagers! It is I, your favorite Crackpot Theorist, Maniacal Engineer.

Today's theory is a short, but sweet theory that has incontrovertible evidence. I submit to you folks at home that @dig and @Zexy are, in fact, one and the same.

"But ME," you might ask, "where is the evidence?"

The answer, my friends, is right in front of you. Earlier today, dig came along and, in his very first act as Head Administrator, covered this very thread in spaghetti. Changing the title and poll to reflect this new decor. Well, it just so happens that, this very same day, Zexy was playing in the infamous mafia game, Fruit Bowl Mafia II, hosted by myself and AussieEevee. In that very game, Zexy had just managed to secure his victory by getting three votes against another player.

"But ME," you might ask, "what do fruits have to do with spaghetti?"

An eggs-ellent question, my friend. The answer is simple. Zexy was neither a fruit, nor a vegetable in that game. No, indeed. In point of fact, he was The Flying Spaghetti Monster.
In further point of fact, Zexy did just secure his victory in said mafia game, as can be seen here.

Ladies and gentlemen, I rest my case.

A little clarification about mention spamming, since this comes up from time to time.
1. You can mention spam, even if you are only mentioning one user. It is not limited to mentioning multiple users in one post.
2. It is not considered mention spamming if a legitimate reason exists to mention somebody.
So, for example, mentioning your teammates in Up or Down is not mention spamming, because you have a game based reason for so doing, i.e. you are trying to help your team win. Additionally, mentioning F&G moderators, even non-playing moderators, in Up or Down, if you feel that there is an actual issue that requires the staff's attention (need a recount, somebody is messing up the count, etc.) is not considered mention spamming.
However, mentioning somebody just for the sake of mentioning them, even in RM, is always considered mention spamming. Again, even if it is only one user.
3. As the exception to point 2, please note that if someone specifically requests that you not mention them, it is always mention spamming if you were to mention them.

As a further reminder, the reason we have this rule is so that we don't spam our users with unwanted notifications and alerts.

Please note that the F&G rules were recently tweaked.
The second bullet point of the second rule now reads:
"When using quotes or spoiler tags, do not create stacks of more than two, and please do not post blank spoiler tags. Blank spoiler tags are spoiler tags that either contain nothing or only contain other spoiler tags."

Please be mindful of this going forward.

Oh. I've also been meaning to mention this, but I got distracted by something else and then new demo units arrived for me to test at work.
There was a minor tweak to the second bullet point of our rule on pointless posting it now reads as follows:

-When using quotes or spoiler tags, do not create stacks of more than two, and please do not post blank spoiler tags or quotes. Blank spoiler tags are spoiler tags that either contain nothing or only contain other spoiler tags. Blank quotes are posts that only contain a quote from another user, edited or unedited, without any other content.

The reasoning for this change is twofold.
1. We want to hear your thoughts when you post, not someone else's thoughts.
2. When you quote someone, it sends them a notification. Similar to how mention spamming sends people unwanted or pointless alerts, so does blank quoting.

Please keep this change in mind for the future.
