I feel as if it's a little close but yeah, it's definitely a different species.
I remember when I was first getting into Pokemon, I got a Magikarp card that specifically mentioned that Pidgeotto hunt and eat them and feeling very bad for it. Good thing Magikarp has jewel hard scales to protect it.Poor Magikarp. Everyone wants to eat them.
