I'm a bit skeptical myself too, but a small part of me can't help but to get a little excited.

So I guess this confirms that Ash will be using some of his old Pokémon. Hopefully it’s not just Kanto Pokémon. Also I thought Bulbasaur made it clear that he didn’t want to evolve.

At least it wasn't ready to evolve at the time, if I recall correctly.

To be honest, I had forgotten about his existence for a while myself. He started out as a regular sized Krokorok, who developed a big appetite and soon evolved. Right now he's... about the size of a small house.
