Ten months?! Talk about tenacity. I'd never have the patience for that. I personally prefer to find my Shines with luck rather than effort.

I'm personally not into Shiny hunting. I've only tried chain fishing a couple times one day in X, and it felt pretty boring to me. However, I did get two Shiniest out of it: a Shiny Octillery (took less than 10 tries) and a Shiny Lanturn (which took a little bit longer).

My first random Shiny, however, was a Shiny Banette that randomly popped out of a trash can at Pokémon Village. It was early morning and I still hadn't completely woken up when this happened, so for a moment, I thought I was dreaming.
