why does pokémon still rename characters in translations tbh
is it just cuz like...that's how they've always done it
(i'm only bringing this up because 'tate shirudomiria' is a better name than casey shield because the 'tate' part of her name is literally the word 'shield' in japanese and the 'shirudo' part of her last name is the english word shield transliterated into japanese which means her name is basically Shield Shieldmiria which is the best fuckin name ever)
