I think a Sandstorm team would be pretty neat. Tyranitar or Hippowdon as the cornerstone, and a myriad of Ground, Rock, or Steel types to work with it. Hell, Gliscor or Garchomp with Sand Veil. Excadrill with Sand Rush. Storm Drain Gastrodon, to deal with pesky Water types.
It could work out pretty well...

I prefer rain teams, rain and swift swim is such a cheap combination but works so well, always liked combining surf with a partner with water absorb in double battles too when it comes to monotype water teams.

Solarbeam and Groudon brings back happy memories of Pokemon Battle Revolution, knocked out many Groudon's in online battles back in the day by turning Drought against it with Vileplume, Chlorophyll + Solarbeam resulted in many 1 hit KO's.
