Does this have anything to do with your dislike of "nostalgia" by any chance?Hearing about all these games other people play/grew up with makes me feel kinda left out. q.q
Not really. And mainly I just dislike nostalgia when it's used as an excuse to hate new things. ._.;Does this have anything to do with your dislike of "nostalgia" by any chance?
They're scary... but that's what I liked about them. I grew up on kid-friendly games like Super Mario Bros and Pokemon, so a sudden shift to something out of my comfort zone was... somehow addicting. I guess I just enjoy a change of pace once in a while.I remember being scared of the ps1 resident evils.
I'm amazed we're friends then. =w=; I'm not above comparing newer games to older ones if I feel they deviate from the formula a franchise is based off of too much.Not really. And mainly I just dislike nostalgia when it's used as an excuse to hate new things. ._.;
The gaming industry peaked in 1999 with Superman 64 and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!Not really. And mainly I just dislike nostalgia when it's used as an excuse to hate new things. ._.;
Well, I can understand that ... heck, when I first played ME2 after beating ME1, the spike in difficulty and radical change in game mechanics (as well as THREE IMPORTANT ACTIONS THAT ALL USE THE SAME KEY) almost made me give up on it. But over time I got used to it, and now ME1 is the awkward one of the bunch for me. xDI'm amazed we're friends then. =w=; I'm not above comparing newer games to older ones if I feel they deviate from the formula a franchise is based off of too much.
Don't get me wrong... trying new things is necessary to keep something from getting dull. But sometimes things like the newer Resident Evils or Castlevania: Lords of Shadow pop up that seem to completely lose their identity, being part of the franchise in name only.
There's always that crowd in any fandom. Didn't you see the pre-release XY blogs about the Fairy Type among other things? (Which were fun to read btw. It was hilarious seeing people get so frustrated over a game of all things, that wasn't even released yet.)Why yes, they cannot be pleased, why do you ask? :3
