I was going to online school starting in 6th grade, and K-5 were rather tranquil.

That's strange, my elementary school was rampant with fights. Everywhere you look there were flying fists and flashing knives. The teachers didn't know what to do and most new teachers left after a week.

I live like 30 minutes away from Detroit and none of my school were this bad :u

I was homeschooled through elementary school and went to a regular school for middle school, then I went back to homeschooling for high school. So I never had to deal with fights too much.

Well, these days, elementary kids are starting to go crazy anyway. I heard about this incident in an elementary school where some boys forced another boy to have oral sex with them. :p

I almost wish the government was allowed to intervene in the upbringing of kids these days, but then people would freak out even more about government control.

That's hard when the parents are getting younger. And trying to tell someone how to raise their kids just brings up issues.
