Well obviously it's effective, the question is, is it more effective than regular Garchomp just holding a Life Orb? That extra 10 base speed means a lot in competitive. And I'm aware that it's helped a lot with Ttar or Hippowdon support, but not every team can have one of those. If Mega Garchomp is a joke, it's the kind that makes you laugh to death. 'Cause I use one, and it's actually pretty effective.
what @User_Name; said, and*absol uses play rough on mega garchomp. It's super effective. Mega garchomp is unable to battle*

Mega Garchomp performs an entirely different role than his non-Mega counterpart, so a comparison isn't entirely fitting.Well obviously it's effective, the question is, is it more effective than regular Garchomp just holding a Life Orb? my Garchomp is female
just sayin'
The physical bulk significantly improves, but the special bulk hardly does. And uninvested Life Orb Garchomp has 255 Sp. Attack with a neutral nature, hardly lower than Mega Garchomp's 276. The lack of recoil is obviously an advantage but not a huge one. In game, Mega Garchomp is better because Life Orb recoil is extremely annoying when fainting Pokemon after Pokemon, and there aren't extremely picky speed tiers, but competitively that speed loss is a major drawback. It also gets boosts to every other stat, and you know what? The slightly lower amount of damage and speed is worth boosted defenses and the lack of recoil on every move to me.
Everything I said in response to Charles, although I will give you Sand Force. Thing is, it requires Ttar or Hippowdon.Mega Garchomp performs an entirely different role than his non-Mega counterpart, so a comparison isn't entirely fitting.Well obviously it's effective, the question is, is it more effective than regular Garchomp just holding a Life Orb? Garchomp is a general sweeper. Megachomp is a wallbreaker, due to the raw power afforded by his higher Sp Atk stat and Sand Force.
Xita's got the eye of the tighuurrrrROAR
I'm doing well, ES, thanx for asking.
