...I was about to ask when characters are radically different.

I went four Black Belts in FF1 once. I have to ask them, where does it get easy like you said it would?

Also, I tried four fighters but they require a lot of money, especially early.

So I'm started over, some more typical:

And my final score...

OK, no. I like older RPGs than newer ones, but not that old

... it's at this point that I realize why people tend to only main one or two characters in fighters like SC.
It's true, spread too thin and you're only making yourself a master of none :p

Smash is easier, but even then it's better to master a few characters at most. But (more buts!) it's advantageous to use several characters because the game is like rock paper scissors with the match ups.

A Rock-Paper-Scissors with defined losers.

I like being Ike. Why doesn't anyone else?

Well yeah, some characters (ahem, we all know who) are like a Nuke and others are like an ant. But most are a mixed bag!
For example; Sheik is considered low mid tier. But she absolutely wallops most Fox players (who is somewhere much higher than her)

Lots of people use Ike online. At least when I played. His smashes are spectacular and all but getting hit by them requires extraneous circumstances.

The controls bothering you too, or the botomless pits?

The falling off of everything.

It's fine, it only took 12 of my lives

Fall damage annoys me sometimes too, but it's normal.

In fact, dying from it's an achievement in Xenoblade ("Terminal Velocity")

I like fighting Ike while using Jigglypuff :3
It's like a time bomb. I can dance around him in the air all day and kick him off screen easily, but every hit by him is dangerous.
Dying at like 55% is fun :D
