Irish school system is as useful as an underwater fire. And to anyone that asks why: First hand experience.

It's interesting to see other countries' perspectives on education.

We still do work, you know

I seriously doubt that you do as much as we do.

Could be, but then again, our government can't exactly afford to run yet another major system of the country right now. *shrug*

... How ironic, the country that's supposed to be on the wheel of the world can't afford to run it's education, while the debt ridden beggar of the South can. *cue getting bashed because of my limited knowledge of the intricacies of the state governments*

Wise investments do not seem to be something our government is capable of. :v

I do plenty of work. 6th hour is really my hour with the most free time. Otherwise from 7 to 1 it's nothing but straight work. Especially since I'm in college level classes.

Oh yeah british school hours could be extended to 9am to 6pm!

All schools, or simply elementary? We already have optional after school hours in elementary schools, which extend the school hours (8:00 to 14:00) until 16:00.

IMHO, school hours don't need to be extended if the curriculum is good and has good teachers to convey it to the students.

All schools, it will cut down after school crime.
But children would lose concentration.
